Well, I'm going to have my new (refurbished) nano and all the nike iPod stuff at the end of the week, and I'd like to run with y'all, but I am really out of shape (6'8" 300 even) and seeing these guys going more in two days that I'll probably go in a whole month is a bit daunting. Maybe I oughta' be looking for the chubby checkers league lol.
Okay, you won me over lol. How do I add myself to the monthly challenge?![]()
How do I view or look at your guys' activity?

I'll be trying to log miles daily in two days when I get my stuff! Maybe I'm shooting for the moon here but I'm aiming to be in the top 10 this month! That's right, I'm coming after ya' Panda lol.![]()
Thrawn - where are you? Need some more runners out there. Right now my master list is 42 folks who have run or asked to be a part of it - this month so far only 11 folks have logged miles and this is the 6th day...
I thought that the everybody wins challenges of the 100, 250 and 500 would be a nice incentive based on the way the monthly challenges are going, but it is not gaining more participation. Any ideas anyone?
Well, my nano should be here today and I have my nike ipod kit. The only thing I'm missing is my shoe pocket but that may come today too!
We're all winning.
The only people who are losing are those doing nothing![]()
well i finally went to the track and tested my new sensor (have had it for a few months now)....and it said one lap around was 0.22 miles.....instead of 0.25!![]()
so after calibrating it, it now says 0.25. i think i've been cheated out of a lot of miles with this sensor.....(even though i'm sure none of ya'll will care)
I do care about people losing miles/km's, especially long runs vanishing.
Calibrating should be the first thing you do with the kit.
You got me worried!
Tomorrow morning (It's friday night here)I'm going to check my calibration, see how it is.
mine was recording 400 metres for a lap of a 400 metre track.....in december 06.
I've noticed that the calibration seems to be very tuned to a specific pace. That is, when I first calibrated my sensor I was averaging about 8:30 per mile. Now I'm doing about 7:45 - 7:50 on most runs. As a result, my distances are off.
I should probably go recalibrate, but based on my experience, I'm not losing that much - may .1 or .2 miles over 5. So if I were to go 100 miles in a month, which would be a ton for me, I'd lose out on maybe 2-4 miles. Pretty small percentage. Plus, sometimes I will run slower, so I'd rather not get "extra" miles when I do that.
