Up on Best buy at original MSRP. THere is one used one also on B+H.
Glad to see it's back at $1299.99 now.

BTW, the very first original MSRP was actually $1199, but that was in an early Asus-sponsored preview. Then when it was finally released, it was $1399 at B&H, but then $1299.99 in reviews. I wonder if that was due to tariffs. That bodes well for Canadian pricing, since US$1299.99 is CA$1814. Could we see it at CA$1799.99 in Canada?

The Asus 6K is not on Best Buy Canada yet, but the LG 6K is there (no stock) at CA$2699.99 / US$1935.

I dont get the best buy warranty but man, japan is way cheaper and also having msrp issue. Some stores it is $1189 msrp. remove 10% tax and 7% coupon, it is $986. Almost $500 cheaper than bb with tax....

what city is this!?

Are you talking about US pricing? It's $1299.99 all over the USA. I checked Amherst NY (cuz that's the closest location to my location in Canada), West Hollywood (cuz 90210), and Bellevue WA (cuz you're in Seattle).
Which city has them in stock?

I looked earlier, but they were out of stock in and around Seattle - but now ordered and ready on 10/14. Great to see! (pun intended)

I use Adobe RGB for photography and the LG covers 99.5% of the gamut (same as my current 4K one I bought in 2016) versus 88% for the Asus. But that price tag, $2700 Canadian for the LG versus $1900 for the Asus, ouch!

Ah, I hadn't seen the confirmed CA$1900 Asus pricing, but now I see it on the Canadian website, which makes it slightly cheaper than the US$1299 price. Nice.

Where did you see the 88% Adobe RGB spec? Not surprised though, and that would be fine for my usage since I'm not a creative pro.

What I really want to see is a couple of side-by-side reviews of the Asus vs. the LG. The Acer is so far nowhere to be seen in North America.

Yea, the color spec is probably enough. I’m a little concerned about the matte screen and would love to see one in person to see if I could live with it or not.

I believe the 88% Adobe RGB number is from the Tom’s Hardware review:

I imagine Tom’s will also do a review of the LG, so if they run the same tests using the same tools and conditions, it could be a useful real-world comparison.

I may have missed it but I couldn’t find the 88% spec but either way it’s moot since as mentioned I’m not a creative pro and I don’t use Adobe RGB.

Glad to see it had reasonable black uniformity, no side off-axis color shift or loss of brightness, and no mention of backlight bleed. This is my main concern, as long as P3 color accuracy is good.

Weird, I’m sure I saw it in a Tom’s review but apparently not that one. I’m out, but when I get home I’ll track it down.

Tom’s is growing, I think they are trying to fill the void left by the demise of Anandtech. Apple seems to be on board. There’s now a Premium tier (in beta) which would be good—I myself will pay almost any amount to avoid ads.

Same, I thought it was Tom's but I can't find it there. PCWorld says it's 87% Adobe, and the Q&A on B&H says "The Adobe RGB Coverage is 88% based on the panel this monitor is using (AUO M315WAN01.0 CELL)."

Speaking of which, apparently this panel is IPS, as opposed to IPS Black for the LG — an entirely different panel with slightly higher resolution than the Asus.

Here’s an informative article from last year about AUO’s initiative with regard to IPS:

Interesting. With the different manufacturers using different terminology (branding) for their tech, we'll just have to wait for the reviews to come in, especially Rtings.

Here’s something else I’ve encountered recently — I thought it was confirmed that the manufacturer of the panels for Apple’s Pro Display XDR was LG Display, but if you actually look into the origins of that assertion, it falls apart very quickly. There’s no substance, nothing unambiguous from Apple or LG Display. I think it is likely that AUO builds the XDR panels and backlight for Apple.

Maybe this is already known and I’ve just missed it?
