Not sure what you mean by "press announcement" -- did I miss something from BOE?
I was just referring to the link you posted here--since you described it as an unveiling, I took that to mean press announcement. But no matter:

NOTE: Asus just updated their internal product page and bumped the price another $100. Showing $1399 now: https://www.asus.com/us/displays-desktops/monitors/proart/proart-display-6k-pa32qcv/

I recently contacted Amazon France (I pre-ordered there a few weeks ago) to know what Asus predicts about availability :

Amazon told me they're now supposed to get the first units from Asus on November 1 and that they're gonna increase the price when it's released (in a few weeks they already bumped the price from 1380€ to 1420€)

I doubt the customer service even know when they are getting it. I don’t think it’s worth preordering, best to just buy it when it’s available.

BTW on Amazon Spain it’s listed at 1399€

Does anyone have any guesses what the default resolution would be on this ASUS 6K monitor if attached to an M4-based Mac? (M4 Pro or M4 Max, to be specific.)

Since it’s 6K native (6016 x 3384) would the default scaled resolution be something like 3008 x 1692 scaled HiDPI? (1:2) Or would it be something like the 5K/5K2K monitors (3:4) - i.e. something more like 4512 x 2538?

I’ve loved 2500 x 1600 monitors over the years (like my sadly broken 30” Apple Cinema HD Display) but would like something a little bigger with more X and Y pixels. But I’m too old to use 6K native …

Well, B&H Preorders are up, but I'm disappointed that there is no ETA on them actually having any product...

In New Zealand a local firm PBTECH also has pre-orders and states that they will be shipped on 1 October

Yeah you're probably right. My pre-order was not canceled but I noticed Amazon France/Spain unlisted the monitor a few days ago (not sure if other European Amazon websites had listed them before but doesn't seem up on any of them now)

It’s still there in Spain but it cannot be ordered. This started today, before that you could order it but it said delivery by November.

Woah! Where are you located and where'd you order from? Going to guess NOT the US?

Let us know your first impressions!
Yes I'm in the EU
Pre-ordered late July from Amazon (sold and shipped by Amazon France) but the estimated delivery date was still early November. Yesterday I received a notification from a French store (Topachat / LDLC) saying the monitor was in stock so I canceled my pre-order and bought it from Topachat.

They shipped it yesterday and I was delivered this morning, I've only been using it for a few hours but so far I'm happy with it.

Going back to 60 Hz feels weird but I'm sure I'll get used to it in a couple days. Right now I have to say it's very noticeable, more than I thought it'd be.
Colors are great, build quality is far from the Apple Studio Display or some other high end monitors but that's to expect considering the "low" price.
Brightness is enough imo even in a very bright room.

Did anyone else who pre-ordered this receive an out-of-stock email from B&H this week? Mine said that they were still trying to fill it, but to consider switching to something else. I put in my preorder about 6 hours after it went live and my order status is listed as "backordered". Curious if others who got in a bit earlier have a more definitive ship date.

I put in the preorder in like the first 15 minutes it was up! I got the same email. I honestly just assumed it was an automated one they send out when someone has had something on backorder for X days.

Their website (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1908824-REG/asus_proart_display_pa32qcv_31_5.html) still shows "Expected availability: Sep 16, 2025".

Holding out hope they're going to get their stock soon. Some EU folks are already getting their hands on it!

EDIT: CDW now has the monitor for order. Expected ship time is 4-6 weeks: https://www.cdw.com/product/asus-proart-pa32qcv-led-monitor-6k-32-hdr/8490433

Sad news, after only a week of use : my Thunderbolt port burnt o_O

A few hours ago I smelled something weird, at first I thought something in my apartment was burning but didn't know what it was since the monitor was still working.

Later I restarted my Mac and noticed the monitor stayed off, I plugged it with HDMI/Thunderbolt and it was working again. I tried a bunch of cables, plugged it into another Mac but the screen kept saying NO SIGNAL.

Then I noticed this :

I burnt out three LG Ultrafines that way recently. First one lasted a little under a year, sent it back for repairs and it burnt out in only dive weeks. Replaced it with a new one it lasted a little over a week, the replacement less than 24 hours.

Right now typing this on the Asus Proart 4K 32" as I didn't have the budget for the 6K nor the patience to wait as I need a monitor for work.
