i can finally get an excuse to get the new iPad.
my iPad 4th gen still working great.

See, that's the other side to the iPad. Even if it is not supported anymore through iOS, it's still very functional and can still be prolonged with other usage for media base tasks. I think some conflate the issue that the iPad is no longer useful after the support is dropped, when it still serves its purpose.

You should try Anytune. As a musician, Anytune is far better than tempo slow in my opinion. It changes the tempo of imported songs without changing pitch perfectly and you can isolate different instruments in the song. My favorite thing is you can loop difficult parts of the songs and gradually increase the tempo until you learn that part.

OMG... I was just gonna say that the one app I use CONSTANTLY is TempoSlow!

I teach dance so it's an important app for me. Nothing else comes close.

I've actually communicated with them a few times via email to have them add new features. I think I have a direct email address. I'll PM it to you if I find it.

I just left a comment on their website begging them to update for iOS 11

Funny... the Android version was updated in 2016:

I wonder if they are giving up on the iOS version... which is a shame since 99% of the dance people I know use iPhones...

Maybe I'll pick up a cheap Android tablet or one of those burner phones just for music in class. That actually wouldn't be a bad thing since my iPhone wouldn't be tied up for music.

The discussion in the State of the Union was about 32-bit support in macOS. (Basically, it's going through the same path as what iOS has already followed.)

32-bit support in iOS is definitely gone in iOS 11.

Yep. Basically, 10.14 will start warning users that compatibility will be removed. They will probably actually remove it in 10.15. At least that's what I gathered.

I doubt it. They're removing the 32-bit code from the OS. This isn't just an off switch that can be turned back on with some hacks.

Hm, maybe. But it can definitely be done during the jailbreak, with the ipsw moddified.

Good bye legacy crap.

If users knew this is coming it would be the first time fragmentation will increase for iOS versions. Many people would avoid updating so they can keep a game or old app.

Yeah I've looked at Anytune. That seems to be the best app if TempoSlow fails to be updated.

Luckily Anytune allows adding files to your device via WIFI.

I'm always cutting songs for dance studios and need to quickly throw them onto a phone or iPad for class. And not just for myself... but for other teachers.

Although it's somewhat of a clunky interface... I can upload a file via my laptop's web browser to a phone. Think of it as "sideloading" songs onto your phone.

That's a helluvalot easier than dealing with iTunes... (and impossible unless the teacher has their own laptop with them to sync their phone to)

Apple doesn't let you just drag a song onto a phone... much to my dismay...

So that feature... and that feature alone... is what I need from a tempo app. And Anytune has it!

My main problem is that end of updates = end of security = end of safety of using the device. Apple should do security updates for Current release of iOS - 2 like OSX.

Apple, please update your number of available apps for purchase from 2.2 Million to 100K with this feature update.

Attention Google, you now have more apps for sale than Apple's AppStore. Congratulations!

So, here's the million dollar question. Can the new "files" app download/manage zip, dmg, img, pkg files? This is the current reason I'm still running iOS 10 32bit apps.
I live in a remote area where there is no internet only cellular, and use 32 bit apps to download MacOS updates manually in order to keep my desktop secure. Hotspot is not a solution for these late files.

The OS should never break apps. That's just bad design. And a grab for cash.

What cash? When did iOS stop being free? And who is forcing you to use it? What other software platform never updates in order to cater to ancient code that even the person who wrote it has abandoned?

And finally, if the app is so important to you, and the dev clearly isn't into it anymore, why don't you just make a competitor and sweep up their audience?
