I returned 16gb for the 32gb which I wanted but at the time they didn't have...64gb for me is over kill...plus it's over 1k dollars

All my iToys are 64 GB just because you can never add capacity. I use the capacity too. I was surprised they didn't do a 128 GB iPhone 5s.

I've always got the 64gb model since they became available. I keep a lot of media on my phone and if I'm going to spend $300 on the phone, I may as well double the space for another $100.

Actually, I wish I could pay the subsidized price but I upgrade each year so it costs ~$800 with Applecare.

I have had owned every iPhone so far and this is the first time that I didn't go with the max. I went with the 32gb because I have never come close to filling up the 64GB.

I have almost always had a rule for certain types of apps like games, if I haven't opened/played it in a week or more I delete it.

I don't really keep a ton of music on my device. I even canceled my Spotify membership because I've been really happy with iTunes Radio the last few months.

As for the photos and videos I take, they are usually uploaded to one service or another not long after i take them so I usually only keep my favorites that I really want to show off.

Not sure if this would be possible for you but what I did was I actually had a line on my shared plan that had a iPad on it and the contract term was close to being up so I canceled the line and paid a small ETF and then added a line to get the new iPhone at the subsidized price. I then switched the 5S to my main line and stuck the ipad on the new line so I am paying exactly what I was paying before and now I have two lines that just about line up with the iPhone launch every year.

I was hoping for them to drop the prices and go $199 32gb, $299 64gb, and $399 128gb but that didn't happen. I probably would've gone with a 32 or 64gb then. All my music in alac would easily be over 64gbs so I converted everything to 320 kbps mp3 and got it down to 24gbs ~ iTunes Match seems to mess up my asian tags (chinese, korean, japanese) so I prefer to avoid that. I'm not a fan of streaming either. So I sprang for the 64gb so I'd have room to have room for apps and photos. I don't store movies on my phone since I prefer to watch on the big screen.

Went from 16GB [ 3G/3GS/4/4S ] to 32GB [ iPhone 5 ] to 64GB for the iPhone 5S because I can just throw any app/music/video at it w/o thinking about storage limitation.

My actual usage is about 24-27 GBs

I wanted to get a 64GB but could not justify the $100 extra. With iTunes match and the flickr app to constantly backup photos, the 32gb is more than plenty for my needs.

If you always resell your iPhones and big storage user. The 32gb is the better option.

I know that sounds like a contradiction. But think resell value. You know u can't live with a 16gb. So 32 vs 64gb. Look at apps u rarely touch. Look at music u rarely play. U at videos u rarely play besides occasional road or business trip.

You can find space to cut it down. You don't need all those photos either.

16 G. I use it for work and communication, not a game or mp3 device. Plenty of storage if you're not watching HD movies on the thing.

Always get as much storage as you can afford. I have the 16GB iPad min, and regret not getting the 32GB. I have to uninstall apps all the time just to make room for new ones, and it drives me nuts. Maybe someday Apple will start allowing expanding of memory! Oh...wait...I fell asleep there for a minute.

Haven't purchased my 5S yet, it will be a 64GB for me. It is my primary camera, so I like to have as much space as possible. Don't want to have to worry about what I store on my phone.

I got a 64gb because I really wanted gold and thats the only one I could find for a decent price on CL. The stupid things is I never even come close to maxing out a 16gb. I keep all my music and movies on my iPod. I have pretty much all the apps I want downloaded on my phone and its like 4gbs total haha. I have 51gbs for photos and games I guess!

16gb, hell if they still had 8 I would get that. Had my one year old iphone 5 before my 5s and I had only used 2gb :) don't download music and don't take a ton of pics or vids. Hardly have any apps so there ya go!

64gb, this is for my wife and she wants it to replace both her non-smartphone and her iPod. She is tight on space on her iPod because of the number of audiobooks and other media she keeps on it. You can never have too much storage.

I was tempted to go with 64gb because on Saturday both VZW and Apple had better arrival times for that SKU.
But then I realized I'd be paying $125 for faster shipping.
I'm buying a new ipad soon, I'll max that one out for most space and use my phone for commute time wasters.

Got a 32GB. I had the 16GB 4S and it was way way way too tight. With this 32GB one I put all 12GB of my most listened music on and then all the apps I use and I still have 12 GB free.

I went from 16 to 32, not that I needed it. I still had >8GB left on it. I just figured that apps will be getting bigger, etc. and I didn't want to have to worry about it.

Went from 16 to 32 this time. For me, it's the sweet spot. I have 3 playlists with my most listened to songs which doesn't take up a lot of space. More room for apps, videos and photos.

16GB 3G, 32GB 4 and now 64GB 5s.

Within a few months of owning my 4 I had to remove all my music because I was running low on space. The main reason for this was the increased size of photos and introduction of HD video. Downloading a lot of apps another factor.

Even without the music I've found myself managing the phone a lot more than I want to so the 64GB was an easy decision. It's an extra £3.33 a month (assuming I keep it 2 years) which is nothing at the end of the day.

16GB really is too small if you have music and games. Especially because it's not even a full 16GB

In the US the resale on 32 and 64GB models is atrocious. Obviously selling privately, timing is everything, but if you trade your phone in you might get an extra $5 for a 32GB over a 16GB, and another $5 or $10 on top of that for the 64GB.

Don't buy 64GB thinking you'll get it back in resale...
