I'm afraid to tell you that on IOS 13, 3-D touch is disabled and reduced to haptic touch feedback. This is on a XS Max.

yes, somebody already pointed that out... do you think there is any change it will be in future betas? i understand that they may not want to carry on with that hardware, but taking it away from devices that support it is just dick.

This is exactly the point. After several years nobody (either Apple or third party) has come up with any innovative new features that only 3D Touch can provide, so the best anyone can say about it is it is "more fluid".
No one said only 3D touch can provide the feature. However it is the best solution. What you propose is the equivalent of when Apple resisted having a second mouse button because command click did the job too.

Touché my friend, touché. I guess I been using 3D Touch the last three years then lmao.
I think that is often the hallmark of a great feature, the one you don't have to think about or even care that you are using. In my view it is a a great compliment to the UX to say the user never knew they were using a specific feature. The user just did it, and it worked naturally for them.

No, it would be like Apple deciding to remove the second mouse button if it was only available on some devices, a lot of people who had it didn't use it, and removing it would allow them to add some better functionality in its place.
In your scenario it is even worse because the users who had it got a glimpse of how awesome it was only to lose it.

If you want the feature buy a new phone ... don't ruin for people that actually have the hardware. I seriously question the product managers at Apple if they actually intend to do theist please people that haven't purchased a new iPhone in years.

An avid user of 3D Touch, I've found the Haptic Touch replacement quite good once I stopped "pressing" the display. Just touch and when you feel the haptic feedback just release to get the Quick Actions menus. It's pretty quick and it's easier than 3D Touch. Touch and continue to hold after the haptic feedback to get the "wiggles".

Easily learned, though, App Switching is still 3D Touch.
So you never pressed the screen, then slid your finger up/down to the shortcut option? Maybe I’m just the anomaly that never raised my finger from the screen. It was SO much faster.

I use 3D touch heavily, they'd better not remove it!
Well, you’d better go submit that feedback to Apple and let them know. Otherwise, they’ll blame it on “trend” and just remove it altogether.
My biggest argument of the newer way is that I can’t “click and drag” my finger. I have to hold, then release, then tap again on the option. I’ve already submitted feedback regarding this feature.
