as much as I'd like to think that this is the picture of a next gen iPhone, to me..it looks like a outer back shell of a iPhone.

3G iPhone with Glossy Black Back?

BUT WHAT ABOUT THE FACT THAT TYPING IN ALL CAPS MAKES IT MORE TRUE? IF I SAY IT IS COLORWARE IN ALL CAPS, IT IS DEFINITELY MORE TRUE!!
plus the fact a 3 year old could remove the line with photoshop.
it's way too small for it to be that.. compare it to the keys of the keyboard.
I'm on the fence with this one. If it's fake, its ridiculously well done. The only thing that puts me off about it is the volume of text on the back and the fact that apple would likely put on an aluminium back again.
Have you actually read the thread? People have already gone in and attempted to find said removed line, and found very little suspicious about the image.

i said that its too small to be the back of a current iphone.
i never disputed iphone nano.
but on the back it just says iphone and i'm guessing the iphone nano will say iphone nano on the back.
this may be one of those fake models that apple produced to trick people during iphone 1, or maybe its a fake model for iphone 2
if not, it may be a prototype/real version of iphone 2

Then instead of a "nano" phone (the screen would be too small), then maybe this is the "low cost" iPhone:
All black low cost iPhone, 8 Gig: $299, EDGE, "cheaper" battery
Standard iPhone: 16 Gig: $399, 3G, "better" battery for 3G usage
Eventually, a 32 gig iPhone: $499, 3G, "better" battery as well
The low cost iPhone is for customers that may want to save a few bucks and use EDGE or not any data plan at all and use WiFi only...

Does the iPod Nano say "Nano" on the back? Nope.
And, bige, this looks like a smaller/cheaper/Nano iPhone, maybe the main new iPhone will get more space, or maybe this is the bottom cheapest model. This could even just be a prodotype, who says its the final product?

it looks about the right size as most of htc's midsized touch cell phones such as the htc touch.
people wouldnt mind a nice alternative to the ultra everything iphone thats a few bills cheaper...

Yep, I want a cheaper iPhone just to compliment my iPod Touch, and getting a normal iPhone and a iPod Touch is just pointless! And expensive

Yeah, it's the same image but it is on a photographer's website and has a copyright notice below it. There's also a copyrighted pic of a white Nikon D3 so maybe this guy likes customising his gear or something. Or maybe he's claiming copyright for an image he doesn't own...
Based on 2nd qtr guidance from suppliers things are looking pretty good for a second version... However current version chips which you would normally expect to cease are still in production and NOT in small numbers either.
Now this doesn't mean anything because the manufactures that put together the iPhone also put together a lot of others.
One thing I did find interesting was he screens from NSI are NOW being shipped to a manufacture in the states. Only Cell phone company manufacturing is Motorola so it looks like the rumors of a Moto iPhone like device are coming to be true... One problem, manufacture is listed as N/A so I can't be certain.
But as for iPhone stuff... 3G cell chips from Broadcom are WAY UP. The new screen is same height, but much wider (that's taller on the iphone). Current screen is STILL in production. Costs is down by nearly 37 (37.333333~)% on current, 48% on the new one (it's cheaper for them to buy the new screen). All around the chips to make up the iPhone are down (it varies a lot but then are down).
No information on Batteries, CPU's, or RAM yet.
Does anyone remember who the RAM producers were for the iPhone? I don't have it on my list. Only thing I have is micron but I think that's wrong for the iphone. RAM across the board is off by more than 30% from 6 months ago too.

I hope they dont do a Motorola iPhone! Remember what happened the first time? Plus, Motorola sucks! Also, Apple already have a OS and hardware manufactrers, I doubt they would need the likes of Motorola to help them with their second iPhone.
I would build it as Moto is making their own iPhone type phone. Probably a win mobile unit or something based on Linux at this point. The Rokr sucked because it could carry what, 40 songs... Waste. But now RAM prices are to the point even a 2mb capacity and a touch screen would sell easily at 199 price point because to most people that's enough (for songs, not video).
