I have 4.0 and 4.0.1 saved in tiny umbrella and cydia. Let's say I had to restore in the near future for a problem. What the easiest way to downgrade. Can someone explain step by step... Thanks!!!

I checked that, all that metions on is doing a restore, i am asking how do you downgrade if you have SHSH saved in cydia and tinyumbrella....i really would like to know just in case

The firmware version on the phone has zero to do with what version Apple is currently signing. Odd that you got 4.0 unless it was just after 4.0.1 was released.

What versions does Cydia show in green letters near the top of the page ?

Here... I have ios 4.0.1 installed and sent in the request this week.

Maybe someone can explain for me (I jailbreaked for the first time two weeks ago). When I plug my iPhone into the usb, will iTunes automatically update me to 4.0.2?

Even if they don't, what about when 4.1 comes out and there's a new jailbreak. If I use that app that people mentioned that remembers the jailbreak apps I've bought and downloaded, will all of my settings and everything remain in tact? IN OTHER WORDS: will my phone look the same (background, folders, settings, passwords, themes, etc.) after a new jailbreak comes out? What do I have to do to maintain everything my phone looks like and does now?

What I did is deleted Itunes off my Computer all together, running my jailbreak until contract is up and getting an Android, this is what you do to make life easier. Step on the cockroach before it lays more eggs.

So, I know that if you are currently jailbroken on 4.0/4.0.1 and you update to 4.0.2, it will delete your JB. That said, does updating completely erase all signs of being jailbroken in the past though? Like you could bring it to the Genius Bar and they would be able to tell?

Ok i digged a little deeper in the thread....is this right to downgrade? you put phone in DFU and then hit SHIFT and RESTORE....is that right?

to downgrade you need to have umbrella running then hit start tss server then you downgrade in iTunes... providing you have the shsh blob backed up

Looks like it may be too late. 4.0.2 is showing up in iTunes.

Just plugged my phone (unjailbroken though) and it wants to update to 4.0.2... I still told it no. Was actually wondering when this would happen. Still toying with the idea of jailbreaking so I want to keep that option open still... Did it once, but only had for like 5 minutes (it was the middle of the night when I jailbroke) but didn't really play around with it much so I restored back to my last backup...

Still toying with the idea of jailbreaking though, so maybe...

Yes and setting up as new will remove all signs.

iphone 4 V 4.0.1 using tinyumbrella get me 4.0.2 file

Hello and sorry for my question as i am new... I have iphone 4 v 4.0.1 and i tried to save my shsh so i got a file with shsh 4.0.2 not 4.0.1

will I be able to restore to 4.0.1 or will it only accept me to upgrade to 4.0.2 ?
Is there a way to get my 4.0.1 signature (like putting the phone in DFU mode on mac instead of just connect it? )

Thank you
