I just saved mine within the last hour. It was minutes before 4.0.1 hit itunes.

I just saved my 4.0 SHSH from Apple's server (after editing my hosts file to remove the mapping to Saurik's server). Seems they may still be signing 4.0.

You can still get your 4.0 blob, I just did it by going into advanced options and getting it from Apples servers.

I've also updated to 4.0.1, and the baseband has not changed. The change is in 4.1, I believe.

Did you make sure your hosts file doesn't forward gs.apple.com to Saurik's server?

Agreed, wait on MuscleNerd.

But it has been confirmed 4.0 and 4.0.1 modem firmware are the same: 01.59.00

Leads one to wonder if 4.1 isn't going to be far behind.

Never changed my hosts file, just looked and the only line it has for gs.apple.com is

#127.0.0.1 gs.apple.com

Which is commented out, so should be fine?

This is only for iPhone 4. Those of us with 3G and 3GS need to worry about an updated baseband, too. The 3G/S baseband is far more likely to be changed, since the exploit is now public.

Yes. Mine was commented out, too. I think TinyUmbrella must've done that. I don't like it.

ETA: Just got confirmation from Semaphore. TinyUmbrella comments out all references to gs.apple.com in your hosts file.

Mine looks like this, I used umbrella earlier.. Should I be ok?
At this point i dont know what its supposed to be...

Why is mine in a big block as opposed to everyone else??

comex just said on twitter it was fine to go to 4.0.1

personally I'm staying on 4.0 as I'm working pretty good even in my office. It'll go to 1 bar but still keeps a signal.

so just for the new formula with the bars. I think I'll pass on this update

ETA: Unless the Dev Team say's go to 4.0.1 for jailbreaking purposes

ETA2:Looks like comex may have deleted it was ok for the ip4

That is if you have an iPhone 4, 3GS and 3G users should still wait.

Planetbeing just just twittered that he recommends not to upgrade to 4.0.1.

Obviously avoid today's 4.0.1 update until JB tools are updated. Luckily, no baseband change so ultrasn0w lives on :)

Has anyone heard anything about when the JB tools are going to be updated?

no trust me it will beall over the forum!!!!! ;) you guys are incorrect about dev-team waiting for 4.0.1 yes it is a small part.. but it's more about tweaking the jb/ul so it's so smooth and easy that hopefully even a caveman can jb/ul... just be patient
