Need help, I currently have 4.3.1, and I have redsn0w and the iPhone 4.3.3 restore files on my desktop. Any way I can quickly update to 4.3.3 without iTunes needing to download the file again? It took nearly one hour to download it to the desktop the first time around.

Tried running redsn0w and when I click Browse and selected the Restore file, it says it was not recognized.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Make sure the file name ends with .ipsw

SSH not working

Hey guys,

I usually don't post, but I've been jailbroken since 4.0.1 and have been using SSH/winscp regularly to mod. I just updated to 4.3.3 and winscp isnt allowing me to connect to my iP4.

I tried restoring and rejailbreaking, tried redownloading winscp, and also reinstalled openSSH. So I'm out of ideas, anyone else encounter this problem?

I also googled the problem but wasnt able to find anything, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I am now on Jailbroken 3gs 4.3.2, BB 05.16.02.

If I will upgrade to 4.3.3, can it be unlock without the use of ipad baseband?

redsn0w 0.9.6rc16 is out, fixes the vibration switch problem some people had, and also i0n1c said on Twitter "BTW: by using the latest RedSw0w you also might decrease the battery drain.

"If you’re already jailbroken at 4.3.3 (by either redsn0w rc15 or custom IPSW), you can install this fix simply by running redsn0w rc16 over your existing 4.3.3 jailbreak. Just uncheck the “Install Cydia” option and check any other options you want. "

Gonna run it now

I don't know about anyone else, but I was disappointed to find that my vibration switch is still messed up. I did the jailbreak last Sunday and seemed like this had been fixed. It showed up today...bummed

That is disappointing to hear... I've been meaning to re-break my 3G S (used Pwnagetool originally for 4.3.3). I haven't used anything other than Pwnage in quite some time & just haven't taken the time to figure out how to run redsnow "over the top" of my current jailbreak since the first step in every guide I've seen is to restore to stock firmware via iTunes. I was willing to try it for no other reason than hopefully a little better battery life. If vibration switch issue isn't fixed, then it gives me even less reason to bother risking screwing things up & having to start from scratch again.

Common sense says that the latest bb will not have an unlock available. Considering that the main author of the unlocks is MIA since October/November, what do you think would be the state of software unlocks for the phone?
Why would you ask this? Is this considered by Jailbreakers /Unlockers to be impossible to unlock?

Technically, the TU server has to be running, but that's the basic idea.

Not true actually. The only reason I know this is because I thought my phone was bricked and I was trying everything to get it working again. I finally got desperate enough to try to update it in itunes and I didn't care about updating my bb. When it went through it still kept my 1.59.00 bb and I can only guess that it's because TinyUmbrella changes the host file. TU was definitely NOT running at the time either. Other people have reported the same.

I forgot that you can do this with an editing of the host file. However, I'd still tell people to have the server running anyway.

Need help! :/

Hello everyone.
I just went from 4.2 to 4.3.3 using pawnage but I can't send or receive calls! It shows one signal bar. My baseband is 03.10 . Any help would be appreciated

First guess: you didn't untick the Activation box (using Expert mode) before you created the firmware. Other folks suggest that running a jailbreak program (do a search) other than pwnage will bring signal back.

Found this: from psywzrd "You need to install ultrasn0w to fix the 1 signal bar issue (yes, you need to install it even if you don't need the unlock). Once you install it and reboot your phone, remove and reinsert your SIM and everything should be working again."
