I read 2 disturbing things today. First, Angela Ahrendts was the highest paid female executive in the US this year.

1. Did people blame the head of Toys R Us when they weren't able to get their beany baby, cabbage patch doll or Turbo Man when they felt they were entitled to get it?

2. Why would anyone be disturbed by how much money a person earns? If you are disturbed by that take action rather than complaining and don't buy their products or own their stock and go buy an android watch.

UPDATE: Yaaaaaay! :D

They're the kind of person to occupy wall street

While i don't like her personality, I think you just seem mad that you don't have your watch yet. It's childish and immature to complain because other people are buying watches at stores. If you don't like they way Apple conducts business then don't buy their products. Also if you feel you have been wronged, Sue Apple for false advertisement. She has done her job plain and simple.

I could deconstruct your comment to illustrate the numerous fallacies but why bother. What you say is idiotic and flat out wrong. Mad is for dogs and I am not angry that I don't have my goods yet. I am peeved that all of this was avoidable...I'll give you that much explanation which is more than you deserve. Now try getting that degree in psychology before you go off half cocked.

My watch has be updated to being shipped at 2:55PM PDT.
It will be delivered tomorrow May 6.

Congrats! Which one are you getting? I have been having a sport green since 4/24/15. Now waiting for the one I actually like after the try-on appointment. The SS will come in June :(

OK, Let me make this simple. An apple watch is not a beanie baby. Toys R Us did not have a successful retail strategy in place that went in an entirely different direction so the illustration you give fails completely. Compensation in an ideal world should be tied to performance. Generally many people feel this, her first outing was most unsuccessful. Read the comments. I am not at all the only one who feels she completely mishandled this faux launch. Nonetheless thanks for your suggestion but I think I'll take advice from smart people and your comment would indicate I not take advice from you.

I hope they start pushing out 42mm SG watches cause they are already in the XX:33 for the 38mm :/ hopefully sometime next week they will get up to XX:15-20

Oh, please.

Apple's retail strategy always had as a component:
- place order online.
- have it shipped to your house.
Try it! It works.
They used that SAME retail strategy for the iWatch.

They also have as part of their retail strategy:
- Line up at store at some ungodly hour and wait till the store opens.
- HOPE that you were able to pick one up after all that waiting.

They knew they had limited supply so they did not do that this time around. Good thing too since it would have meant people who waited for hours would get nothing or not get the phone they wanted (e.g. getting the 128g because that seemed more in stock than the 64g).

The fact that people are upset with Angela on this forum is only an indication that people don't know what her job is and what decision making authority she had. Blaming her because there wasn't enough inventory or for not pushing the launch date out is just naive and silly. Whining about how much money they make based on a naive assessment of their performance is even sillier.

So much this.
One does a disservice to Apple and to anyone else that embarks on a whole new product line on this scale, when they think all that is needed is to JUST DO IT LIKE THE IPHONE!" ESPECIALLY because there was no real way to gauge the demand that would follow this launch. The only real world competent examples in this vein (android wear) have been woefully underperforming in terms of adoption rate.

I may be in the minority, but no one can convince me that Apple hasn't done the best possible job with this release given the circumstances. Primarily because this may be one of the first 'new' product launches where things like early adopting on gen1 devices, lining up for releases, and spamming servers in the middle of the night to nab a brand new product sight unseen ASAP.

Yes there was -sort of- tight demand for the first iPhone and even more for the first iPad, but that was amongst other nerds and diehards. When my 70+ year old grandpa and mother are getting on and midnight for this watch... this is a whole new ball game.

With 20:20 hindsight, one could say that when they found that there was a problem with one of their suppliers for the haptic engine (which I believe they found out before the launch, although the press didn't know about it until much later), that they should have delayed the launch for several months until they can ramp up production in the second plant.

Of course, that would be met with howls of derision against Apple for delaying the launch and skepticism at the eventual launch if the product is technically stable or even viable.

All things considered, they did a great job. They told people that the watch will be in short supply, they avoided mayhem at the stores ("what!!, I waited on line since 10pm last night and you ran out already?!??!"), they clearly communicated when you would receive your watch when you ordered, and up to now people have been receiving them in those windows, and some have even had their windows moved up a bit.

My SG BSB :07 (to MT) has finally changed to shipped. Hoping it starts it journey tonight and arrives tomorrow, but I'm doubtful! Right now it's just been sitting on 'Ready for UPS'

Good luck for you all of you guys.Just got home and saw this###Was already without hope.
