Figured I'd throw myself in here. Still nothing on the preparing to ship front.

I ordered at 12:04 am PST on April 10th, got my email at 12:05 am PST. When I began my order in the app, the date was 04/24-05/08 but I had to change my credit card info, and when it came back to the cart it was 05/13-05/27.

I'll post again if anything changes, but at this point, I'm figuring I'm stuck till may. =\

UPS My Choice just updated telling me its going to be delivered tomorrow 4/21???

Edit: It might actually mean it will be "delivered" to UPS tomorrow, I assume.

I got one too, but I suspect it's the extra charger cable.

Info from another thread:

Okay guys and gals,

I just talked to a contact at Apple (he's not a customer support person and that's the most I can say. but he did have information that was being distributed for phone support staff)

he said that they have a memo in which they told their phone support employees that "having a change in your order status is not an indication that you will or will not receive your watch before those who are yet to get an order update."

He went on to describe and insist "A change in order status does not indicate an April 24th delivery and the lack of a change to order status does not indicate that you will not be receiving your product at launch. On the contrary, orders are being processed differently this time around and the specifics of logistics in which bands, which models, which delivery companies, are all contributors in the timing of the status changes and will continue to be processed 24 hours a day. Orders processed today may not ship till Friday, while orders processed tonight may not ship till Monday and orders processed tomorrow may very well arrive Friday."

"The process in which the orders are being scanned and attached to the product for shipment are not being based on time of order specifically. The first come first serve only applies to the delivery window, not to the time of day. All 4/24-5/8 orders, regardless of wether they were 1 minute or 4 minutes after the Site and App went live, will be processed for the same shipping windows. The determination of the products arrival will solely be based on inventory, geographic location, and delivery provider."

"The fact that your order hasn't updated is irrelevant. Your shipping window is your shipping window, regardless. Orders began updating today and will continue to update. With most orders already in the process of shipment, it is a matter of being input into the system. Your devices arrival date has been determined regardless of when you receive the notification at 4:00pm or 4:00am, the outcome will be the same."

Disappointed not getting mine on release date :( hopefully ours ship a week earlier then the May 13th. Just have doubt it's gonna be this week.

i think im gonna get depressed if my watch does not show up on the 24th :(

Why? You were quoted between May 13th and May 27th. Anything earlier is a gift.

I am also in this group and, while it'd be great if it came earlier, I'm not getting my hopes up.

What's really annoying is that I ordered a 38mm sport at 3:01EST and was in the 4/24-5/8 group. Then realized I might want the 42mm, ordered at 3:40 and got in the 5/13-5/27 group. Tried them on, realized I need the 42mm, so here I am.

Worst Apple launch ever. I would rather wait in a line for a day making new acquaintances chilling with fellow Apple fans and ensure a day 1 purchase. If there wasn't a link available I would have the choice of a different band.

the thing is i ordered right when the store come back online and got quoted as May 13th - May 27th. My confirmation email is 2:01 central time. the whole point of a pre-order is to get it the day it is suppose to be released to everyone not a few days or weeks/months later.

Lets face it, some of the guys in the first tier haven't had their cards debit or their statuses changes. Some will get their watches on the 24th and some the following week.
I cant see status changes happening until late next week and us getting our watches until the week commencing the 4th at the earliest.

This sounds a little ridiculous. First, stocking every model of every Watch collection at every Apple store is a logistical nightmare and a bad decision. Secondly, I would be livid if I waited in line all day and they didn't even have the model I was wanting to buy. This was the best way to handle this launch. There were some miscommunications, and some stumbles here and there, but overall it was handled very well. You're just mad because you have to wait a few extra days than you were expecting. All that anger will disappear when you're using your watch. Be patient.

i leave for vacation may 8th through the 16th so really hope i get mine before then otherwise someone is going to have to stay at my house the day it is scheduled to be delivered.

im probably part of this group also because i ordered one of the most popular choices.. 38 MM space gray with black sport band

4-6weeks (Deliever May 13 - May 27th) pre-orders

Move along... Nothing to see here

If it's UPS, you can have them hold it for pickup and even re-route it. Not sure about Fedex however.

You can have fedex deliver to a FedEx office location and they will hold for you. Some of them are even open 24hrs. That's what I always do when I'm not going to be home to sign.

And now that you announced to a group of strangers that your house is going to be vacant, who knows what someone might do!

Don't tell people online that you are not going to be home unless you are inviting trouble.

Im going on vacation but there will still be people at my house.

Not necessarly. Apple could have as well implemented reserevation system, as they did with the iPhone 6. It's even easier to handle (logisticly) than pre-orders:
  • you know how many products are needed in each store
  • there is a specified number of stores (locations) in d1 countries making it easier do deliver large quantities
  • the queue expirience remains and everyone is happy since they know that they will get their :apple:Watch on day 1 :)
