I'm okay with the 4-6wks... I feel Apple will adjust the shipping date when more stock comes in. They always seem to ship sooner than later

Easiest marketing tactic is to be 'conservative' on shipping estimates and then fulfil orders early. Creates hype and satisfies customers. Clever.

Why is the window for May 13 - 27th so big?

I ordered at 3:03 and I'm in the same range as people who ordered at 3:40....

That may be true, but if people cancel their preorders, you'll get bumped up before the people who ordered at 3:40 will.

Hey, May 13-27 is better than "June."

I'm also in the May 13-27 group but really, it's just 2-4 weeks longer than the first wave of shipments. Also, there's always the hope that we might be in the early part of that delivery window, if not even moved up beyond that.

I ordered a SS with black sport band at 15:36 UK time and it's delivery 12-26 May.

Thought it would be June by now!

Same in Germany. Ordered mine (SS white sport band) at 11:46 CEST - delivery 12-26 May. Hope that the reservations will start on April 25th and if I manage to get one I will cancel the order.

fun? lol! you and i have a different definition of fun! :p

ok.... seriously... we did have a fun thread! and this one will be too (and anyone not having fun get's put in the corner or kicked out of the clubhouse!)

I eagerly look forward to this thread's version of "UPS doesn't hold packages."

Ordered from my iPhone @ 3:05am - 38mm SS Modern Buckle (brown) to coordinate with my Louis Vuitton stuff. On the Apple website a few minutes later ordered a Milanese Loop and White Sport Band along with one extra charging cable (1 m) to keep in my purse (for just in case).

Watch ships - 4-6 weeks
Milanese Loop ships - 2-4 weeks
White Sport Band ships - May
Charging cable ships - 7-10 days

Went to the Apple store a few hours ago for my try on appointment. No brown modern buckle available to try on, however it was beneath the glass on the table for display purposes. I'm happy w/my orders. Plan to get the black leather classic soon.

I waited until the website was online because I had a gift card from an earlier trade in and you can't use it on the app. In retrospect, I should've ordered it right away and change payment method once I locked in the shipping date.

I will be seriously surprised if the Stainless Steel ship dates don't move up. I had my order in at 12:01, and e-mail confirmation at 12:02 and I STILL got 4-6 weeks.

We're talking premium products here, the Stainless Steel with links are the most expensive Apple Watches (outside of Edition). To have a ship date this bad already is bad business. So either the shipping dates are moving up, or Customer Service is going to need to sweeten my pot a bit for me to be happy.

Had the watch saved in my favorites and use the Apple Store app, it took a whole 10 seconds to complete the order including paying with Apple Pay. Ordered at 3:04 am est. As soon as the store became live. 42mm SS, Blue leather loop. 4-6 weeks (May 13-27)

I had the Apple Store app open at 12:02 PST and had pulled up the 42mm SG Sport and was ready to checkout with Apple Pay. The thing is, my wife is getting the watch for me for my birthday, so she wanted to buy it, not have me buy it and her reimburse me. She didn't know the process like I did, so I ended up in the 4-6 weeks (May 13-27) block at about 12:08. However, it sounds like even if I had checked out early, I might still have ended up in the second wave, so I don't feel so bad now.

I, like everyone else, hope the watch shows up as early as possible of course.

Ordered a silver sports one with with band at 09:03 (i am GMT+1) with 24-4/8-5 but never got a confirmation email.

After a couple of hours i was able to login to the store and there my order was, at freaking 4-6 weeks :(

Only now I got another problem. I am not able to join the May13-may27th group because I have 12may-26may :D

EditD Btw isn't 4-6 weeks the second wave instead off the third?

42mm Stainless Steel Link. Ordered at 2:01 Central, confirmation email stamped 2:02am and I was immediately dumped into the May 13th-May 27th boat. :(

That may be true, but if people cancel their preorders, you'll get bumped up before the people who ordered at 3:40 will.

Hope you're right. So, what that would mean is . . . if people ordered multiple watches until they either A)Did a try on at the Apple Store and/or B)until they made up their mind which one they really wanted . . .
Then those cancellations would create more "openings" in the first delivery time window?

It would be comforting if a credible Apple employee verified that this is the way the system works.
