Wouldn't the ability to not mix-and-match make it easier to mass produce them?

No. Because they can make a crap-ton of the silver aluminium and just run different dyes of bands. If the silver bodies were a higher priority for Apple to manufacture the SG ones would get delayed.

That said, it's also possible the SG is this year's white iPhone. But, the fact that some people are getting SG watches on launch day make me hopeful I'll see something shake loose next week.

I never really followed any preorder before this one so, can you tell what was the problem with the white iPhones?

When Apple first did the white iPhone with the iPhone 4, they had issues with the yields and they weren't available for a looooong time after launch. I think it took them a nine months to get them out.

38MM Space Gray Sport watch with Black Sport Band still reading as "Processing" and 4-6 weeks. Order went through at 12:07am (after a flipping error happened when I submitted at 12:05am). Guess I'm not going to be one of the lucky ones.

:D :D :D Tracking number shows 4/24 delivery.
I hope all of you guys get lucky as well!

it better not be 9 months for the watch

My fear at this point is that Apple is putting everything they have into hitting the launch day and all the orders that don't make the cut will be delayed weeks because apple got the launch day orders out and no longer feel a rush to deliver. So I think it's tomorrow or mid May. Nothing in between.

Apple wants as much money as possible between now and when the quarter closes next month. We should get ours before then, and the June people should get moved up.

Damn, let's hope this is not the case this time!

Completely devoid of any logic.

since when are they moving along??? hardly anyone has gotten charged and or shipping notices for this model.

Let's keep in mind that this board only accounts for a small percentage of people who actually have purchased/pre-ordered this watch. Just because you don't see alot people on here with movement doesn't mean the wheels aren't spinning.

I had the same thought. Hopefully it's not true! Seems unfair to rush orders for just an arbitrary fraction of people who preordered in the first few minutes.

No movement here. Still...

Yeah, I went SG, got my confirmation email at 3:06am, no charge or change in status.

For those of us who went with the SG and are in the 5/13-5/27 delivery window. It looks like a lot of SG people with 4/24 windows got that email of death from Apple so chances are real good we're not getting anything tomorrow. Maybe next week? but it all depends on how many of these they're cranking out!

Great point!

No silly. People can't slack off like that. It's not just Tim and Angela, who left to themselves would just dance all day with Eddie.

I order 38 SS ML on 4/12 and have May 14-28. I used several gift cards and it looks like they were deducted for the amount of the AppleCare+ but this is the first I've checked.
Do the applecare charges predict movement?

No, unfortunately I don't think so. For majority of the people it's when the watch is actually charged. After the watch charge shows on your bank or credit card the status on Apple is changed to prepare for shipment as soon as 30mins after the charge is reflected.
