So I belong in our 4-6 week group, but to my surprise, my 42mm White Silver Sport will be arriving at my house tomorrow on opening day. I never ever expected it to arrive this early.

Now the tough part. I'm out of town until next Thursday.

So do you guys think Apple is going to ship new units out as soon as they are able to or will they wait to ship in waves?

Probably ship in waves. Like it doesn't make sense to pay shipping charges for one or two crates of watches - whereas if they wait till they have 10 crates then they would probably get cheaper shipping. Obviously guessing the numbers but I would assume that is how it works.

Hi There. This is my first time posting.

So I didn't get my SG 42mm Apple Watch Sport today (Australia) however I don't have a problem with that as I am in this group. However tonight I have changed my shipping address as I will be at work during the days and would like delivered there.

After I did this my shipping date changed form 13/05/2015 - 26/05/2015 and is now displaying 25/05/2015 - 05/06/2015. Is this something that would normally happen or is something else going on. The new address is closer to the courier and is also closer to the CBD of the city.

I appreciate any help with this.

As available. The orders are be palletized by region at the factory, put on the carrier's plane and flown to destination country. Once past customs the pallet is broken up and sorted at the carrier's facility for delivery. With the program Apple uses the carrier has a week from p/u to deliver unless the pallet is held up by customs (rare). It could be next day delivery or a few days.

I've heard of this happening to people who change their delivery address, and it's exactly why I'm not changing my delivery address to my work. Make an already annoyingly long wait even longer by simply changing where it needs to be delivered to by a few miles. Unbelievable.

You can try calling Apple to see what the deal is with it and try to get it changed back to what it originally was.

OK so after today, when the initial rush is over and hopefully 90% of the the first tier have got their watches, do you think that that Apple will turn their attention to the may orders especially the SS/Link combos and get those out next week.

Who knows anymore. They're already fulfilling June orders ahead of some 4/24-5/8 and 5/13-5/27 orders. Apple is gonna do what Apple wants to do.

I had a super vivid dream that my watch was on its way. Took me a few seconds to realize when I woke up that it wasn't real. It was rough.

I'm thinking about cancelling my milanese order and get a link watch instead since I'm not getting this watch anytime soon anyway.

You guys think i will really have to wait for June ? I will have to get my watch reship here anyway but I don't want to wait till June lol

Ok, now the fun begins.

Face it, it's going to be a few days at least. The question is how many.

What do you think, a week or two? ....(probably, not more than that, but i'm seeing some scary July references, but this doesn't apply here hopefully :) )

Thanks for the info, that doesn't sound too bad :)

Guys... if you want to know the BEST ESTIMATE as to when an Apple Watch will ship feel free to check one of these two places:

View attachment 544725
View attachment 544726

Those are the estimates made by the people who have a window to how many watches they have, how fast they are making them, how long it take to ship them, and how many orders there are. If you are expecting anything different, then you'd better reset your expectations. Things shipping earlier are the EXCEPTION, not the rule. For any other questions or complaints, I direct you below:

To everyone who has been updating statuses in here, kudos. As someone who has the same shipping window, it has been intriguing to hear about everyone else’s status who is in the same boat. It is also fun to jokingly agonize together and hope against hope that we’ll see our watches sooner then they were promised to us.

To all those who think they have legitimate complaints, a few things…

1) As others have said, Apple gave you a delivery estimate when you purchased the watch and it was your choice to purchase it. If they beat that estimate, they should be commended; if they meet the estimate, you should be perfectly satisfied; and if they miss it, you will have something to complain about. But given almost no one can yet claim Apple didn’t meet the expectations they presented at the time of purchase I have exactly no sympathy for you and you have no legitimate grievance that it won’t be shipping to you four weeks early.

2) You have absolutely no idea how many watches were made, how many bands were made, how many were ordered, how many have shipped, and in what combinations. If you think the anecdotal and anonymous reports, from lets say (charitably) 100 people on this thread, gives you enough information to reasonably speculate on the status of the predicted over 2 million pre-orders, then I’d highly recommend you sign up for a very basic statistics course ASAP. The people on this board are not a representative sample, and even if they were, they are of a sufficient size to draw any conclusions. So all this “I can’t believe Apple didn’t X, Y, or Z” is bogus. You don’t know, so don’t act like you do.

3) Just because your particular model wasn’t in the April 24th shipping window when pre-orders went live doesn’t mean that mistakes were made or that the launch day should have been pushed back. A lot of people will be getting Apple Watches over the next few days… and that is great for them. The fact that you weren’t able to get yours when you wanted it doesn’t mean that everyone who will be getting one should have had to have waited another 2 weeks, month, or however long you would have wanted Apple to push back the launch for.

4) Given this is a whole new product category, Apple had to make some very very tough guesses about how many of any particular model to make. There is almost no precedent or frame of reference that they can look to build their assumptions. Even if somehow they had managed to guess perfectly which of the dozens of combinations were going to be pre-ordered and in what quantities they still have to deal with the fact that sometimes there can be unexpected issues in the production of a product, in the supply chain that provides the materials for that product, in the quality assurance of that product, etc, etc. There are tons of variables that could have led to some combination of models not being produced in the quantities they desired. There is also the fact that some of combinations are simply more difficult to make then others (the link bracelets are brushed BY HAND). In other words, it is not shocking that some models are more difficult to get then others.

5) None of this is new and not limited to Apple. Every year certain models of iPhone are constrained for months after they launch due to some combination of the factors above (and they come in far fewer combinations). The same has been true of virtually any successful product Apple has ever made.

Anyways… I feel a lot better now getting that off my chest. Thanks to those of you who are remaining rational. I can’t wait to get my SS Link.

No changes :(

38mm SG sport with black band (May 13-27)
42mm SG sport June

Neither have left processing.

I ordered a silver sport with blue band on a whim and that says June also.

The next time I will pre order the maximum amount iPhones with different cards and return them all after 10 days. I absolutely hate that people git three watches just to choose one and return two of them.

Or sell them ... but I don't care about moral.
It's just stupid seeing peopl;e with watches they did not intend to keep at all.
