Aside from the screen there isn't anything to get excited over

Still same iOS 8

We need multitasking

We need a way to change default apps

We need an ir blaster

We need more ram

We need a true notification center
You need an android.

Funny, two short years ago we were all making fun of Galaxy fans, saying they need cargo pants or send their pants to be altered with bigger pockets.

Now all of a sudden 5.5 is the perfect size.

So true. For many on this site it will be crap until Apple do it, then it will be genius.

Easy there tiger.... If I can get in trouble for telling someone to get a life you certainly can for mocking Aspy's..... and I guess those with a hypothyroid condition too... I however am a hypocrite and only care about the ASD mocking.
See above

For whatever reason they really only seem to care about ad-hominem attacks, not actual human decency here. Although I suppose one of them might take this one personally.

I'm mildly hypothyroidic =P

And I was just making fun of the picture.

Hi. Outside USA =/= inside USA.

Cheers.

Hm. Only other country I'm really familiar with (phone wise) is Canada and they have subsidized prices too. Figured it was like that everywhere.

True, except it's not genius... it's 'revolutionary', 'resolutionary', 'magicical', 'just works', and my favorite 'deserves to exist'

They've started at 199 for the last 4 models other than the 5C, haven't they?

They have, and the NAND upgrade has been $100 for each tier which is crazy. Let's hope they now have $100 model upgrades (4/4.7/5.5 inch) and $50 storage tiers.

The 4" size is rediculously tiny by today's standards. I will be surprised if Apple continues to offer that size for now, but the writing is on the wall. 4" screens are doomed.

I'm positive there will be at least one more model of 4" screens. The big question is whether someday the 4" screen gets the same resolution as the new 4.7" and 5.5" screens or if it stays at the current resolution. Or maybe they will do something else to make the 4" size interesting (no bezels, constant-on, dual color/paperwhite, solar charge, etc.)

As I've said, I'm looking to consolidate devices into one. I carry my iPad mini with me everywhere, and that gets a bit tiresome. Plus remembering to charge everything every night gets annoying.

That and nerve damage from a recent injury makes it harder for me to type on a 4" screen.

4" is perfect for many. Even 3.5 is good. Anything larger = too big.

Anyone that equates 4.7 and even 5.5 with tablets has problems. The mac mini is 8", these are not even close.

People with small hands will at the minimum have the option of buying something else.

Seriously though anyone calling a 4.7" phone a tablet MUST have tiny hands. A 4.5" phone of the daughter is far closer to my 4" iphone than to her 7" kindle. Calling it a tablet is just as disingenuous as calling the 4" phone an ipod shuffle and frankly childish.

Its also childish suggesting that only people with small hands need a 4 inch phone.

I have no problems. My hands are actually large and 4 inch is the max I can use one handed. Besides that it has nothing to do with hands. Its to do with wanting to have a phone that is not oversized, and not being forced onto a plastic phone because of this. Is it honestly that hard for Apple to make a premium 4 inch iPhone 6.... just have the iPhone 6 in multiple sizes.

No, it isn't. It just won't have all the goodies that the big ones due to physical limitations.

People can moan and groan all they want about wanting to keep the 4" form factor, but face the fact that the 4" iPhone is doomed. Apple may continue to offer a 4" "5C" version for a while, but it will soon be a relic of the past. All the dinky screen lovers will have to hold onto their old phones as long as they can.

Plastic phone

My hands are also actually large, and I use a 4.5" screen with huge bezels, a big wraparound protective cover and a mighty camera bump one handed every day. Which leads me to think that either you don't have large hands or that you've never tried using a larger phone for any reasonable amount of time.

My hands are huge ... I use my full sized iPad one handed.

My hands are large and I've tried many different samsung devices....

Plastic phone

I don't want to have to buy a plastic phone or a large gen because it suites some people to have a large phone. Got no problem with Apple having a line of 4, 4.7 and 5.5 inch iPhone 6. Perhaps the 4 inch will not get all the tech advances that the other two get (because they have more internal space) but the 4 inch should get a redesign + camera optics if possible & new chip. I do have problem with Apple abandoning a large number of people who want a high end phone and a convenient screen size for them.

4 Inch is not dinky. For many it is practical and reasonable.
