I remember when I complained about those massive Android phone and now Apple will offer a 5.5inch iphone?

I am due an upgrade and defo want the iphone, I am just not sure if 5.5inch for a phone is too big?

I hope Apple will release the iPhone 6 unlocked models at the same time as the carrier locked models. Sick of waiting the 90-120 days so that the stupid carriers have their exclusivity.

This just make me mad! The waiting period.

They already did that last year with the 5S. I ordered my 32GB unlocked Gold model on Day 1.

That would be rubbish. There are a lot of people who don't like carrying tablets around. Apple has spent the last 2 years telling us how the 4 inch is optimal, which it is for a lot of people. The 5S isn't going to cut it for those of us who want a new phone.

If you allow Apple to tell you what's optimal, this should be no problem.

Apple is now telling you there is a new optimal.

4.7 or 5.5

Get used to it or stop letting Apple dictate to you what's optimal.

As if this wasn't ever going to be released simultaneously.

My thoughts are as to what will happen with the iPhone 5C, and the 4" size.
Forgoing 2 separate phone markets for a purely size upgrade is going to shake things around, not all in a positive way.

I imagine the 4" will stick around for at least another year, maybe more. They had 3.5" and 4" for a while when it was 4s/4 and 5... So many people like the 4" size, so maybe they will keep it around longer, options are always good!

I can see them having the 6C, but I would shocked if the have a 6 in 4", but I've been shocked before.

True, I imagine they will be keeping the 5c or 5s around for another year. Beyond that, I don't know what they will do for a 4" model, I just can't see them dropping it. Maybe I will be shocked, lol

Why not?

Not everyone wants to carry a tablet around with them.

Anyone that equates 4.7 and even 5.5 with tablets has problems. The mac mini is 8", these are not even close.

People with small hands will at the minimum have the option of buying something else.

Seriously though anyone calling a 4.7" phone a tablet MUST have tiny hands. A 4.5" phone of the daughter is far closer to my 4" iphone than to her 7" kindle. Calling it a tablet is just as disingenuous as calling the 4" phone an ipod shuffle and frankly childish.

Only reason why I never upgraded from a iPhone 4 is because I didn't think the screen was a large enough increase on the 5. I'm definitely getting the 4.7" phone. Still wishing they would magically remove the bezels at the top and bottom though and make the home button part of the touch screen.

The bigger the better for me. But I think they'll be making a mistake if they drop the 4" model from their lineup. I suspect that there are quite a few people out there who prefer a smaller phone. And I think it may also come as a bit of a shock for some people who may still be plugging around with a pre-5 model, which is even smaller than 4", when they find out that they have to jump all the way up to a "huge" 4.7" model.

But, again, if I stick with iOS, I personally will want the biggest screen possible.

what about the 4 inch model?? Please let there be a 4 inch model ( not a c model, but a flagship one)

5C/5S in some capacity will still be around.

5S has TouchID, m7 coprocessor, and 64bit. Lacks nothing

Yeah, I think it’s as simple as that. New FF for the iPhones 6, 5s remains as-is to provide a 4” FF (and “entry level” device) - if the 4” remains a viable product, I could see an aesthetic refresh mid-update cycle. I also wouldn’t be surprised to see a refreshed 5c that includes TouchID ... or maybe the 4” product becomes only the C model with TID incorporated, and the more “premium” devices become the new 4.7/5.5 (with the A8, etc.).

I want the 5.5" ASAP!! I'm so excited to get a big phone!! I was so depressed when the 5s was still only 4".
