This is the #1 reason why I got rid of my iPhone. I love the fact that I have plenty of space on my Note 3 (64gb) and don't have to worry about it.

Apple just doesn't get it.

they need a way to put these in the hands of emerging markets without making them feel bad by buying something plastic. in these markets 16 makes perfect sense. no one can see how much memory your phone has on the outside which is mostly what matters in keeping your image on top.

16GB? What is this...2010?
I don't understand comments like this. Why does it matter if there's a 16GB version on the table? There are a TON of people that are perfectly content with 16GB. Why would they cut that option off? If you need more space, go for the higher capacity version. Not sure why it matters to some people that they put out a 16GB version when there are clearly people that go through that route.

This guys have the iphone 6 look the video
http://youtu.be/QRzhd_fOY-s

Looks nice but there are some strange things.. like they build it themselves with all the leaked parts, e.g. the camera lens seems not to be straight to the surface and the display resolution seems to be worse compared to the 5s and the iTunes logos aren't the same.

Edit: seems not to be the real display panel; and the end of the video when the 'connect to iTunes' screen is shown the lightning connector does not start at the bottom of the display like on the 5s.

Because most would prefer 32Gb for $199 rather than 16GB for $199. They are advocating increasing the storage capacity of the base model, which may cost Apple in the vicinity of $4. I think if the 16GB model was $99 or $149, people wouldn't be complaining.

I was hoping 16GB would fall away, and we'd be at 32,64,128... But...

Apple is doing what will make them the most money, the 16GB will sell the most, and Apple will spend less than they would if they had to supply 32GB in each phone.

This is a big disappointment. I can't understand how Apple can assume that's anywhere near enough for a basic iPhone when they encourage people to download the entire iLife and iWork suites for iOS. That alone will eat up over half the storage of the low-end iPhone.

How about selling an iPhone with all the basic iOS software preloaded -- and also having 16 gb of storage remaining? That way those huge apps don't eat up precious gbs.

I would have liked them to cut the 16GB and start of at 32GB, because I always go for the lowest capacity. It makes sense for them to keep it around though, they'd be leaving so much money on the table starting out at 32GB. And if you're someone who generally needs a higher storage option, this is all good news for you.

I really like the rumor saying Apple will have a 16GB, 64GB and 128GB size. I agree that 16GB is too small, and I don't think Apple will offer 32GB out of the gate because for most people that is enough. I do like the thought though of getting a 64GB size for the 32GB price.

Random Access Memory. Yes, I think it is RAM.

No one is denying that RAM == Random Access Memory. However, the capacity of space being discussed within this MR article refers to ROM– Read Only Memory.

The difference between RAM and ROM is much more than a single letter.

I run into more problems with iCloud data being capped at 5GB than my phone being only 16GB. I don't store music on my device (Spotify FTW), so photos are really the only thing that take up a chunk of space.

16GB is a pathetically small amount of storage these days. How much would it cost Apple to double that amount?

Not much, I'd guess.

Exactly - and the idea there are 8GB iPhone 5Cs floating around :(

Remember the original iPhone... 4GB?!

no 32GB

it will be 16, 64, 128. The 64gb will be priced at the 32Gb price point. Even with everything in the cloud, 16Gb is pretty much too small these days. I already have a 32 so I am willing to pay for that, just hoping that this time I will get double the storage for that money.

I'm not going to buy another 16 GB phone. I'm not going to pay a 100€ premium for more storage.

Your move :apple:

I wouldn't want Apple to have to pay an extra $5 for phone to give people a reasonable amount of storage.

$5 per phone is $500,000,000 or a half a billion dollars. Must be nice to be so generous with other people's money.

There are millions of people that only need 16gb. Not me, I'll be getting 128gb.

It does surprise me that Apple may get rid of 32gb. But adding two new phone lines will mean the will have to do some SKU control.

It is definitely not about ROM either.. Think about what you wrote: read ONLY ;)

I think you are the one "not getting it". 64GB iPhones have been available for quite a few years now. You could have had one.
