My concern over lack of hard evidence for a 5.5" version is reaching new highs. Where are the leaked parts for that version!! I realize that majority may not want a phone that big, but I do....and I want to stick with the Apple ecosystem. The decision is going to be painful if I only have a 4.7" version to choose from, compared with a Galaxy Note 4

Well get an iPad Mini then. The Galaxy Note 4 is puny compared to the iPad.

I can't stand the bands. They stick out too much. It looks cheap and makes it seem as though the phone was falling apart so someone haphazardly taped it up with the thickest tape possible.

Apple Logo and bands

Having the darker color :apple: with the white bands do not look good. Shouldn't it be white?

For the love of god, this is MacRumors, not 'peoplewhodontknowanythingaboutappledesign.com', right? This is not a final design. Use your brains, they are most likely support/holders for the manufacturing process, these shells are thinner and more fragile than the 5/5S rear shells. Come on, that's not even a design it's just a thick white band across the back.

Also, this is my first post here, long time MR reader, first time user.

I don't know about you guys, but I think the case showing in those pictures looks kinda cheap and not of a typical apple quality, in comparison to iPhone 4s and iPhone 5 final finish quality. It look like one of those replacement case you buy on ebay to fix your iPhone with.

I really hope its not the real deal, other wise its definitely a deal breaker.

When the 5 was first leaked I said it couldn't be real because the camera lens no longer followed the radius of the case corner as it did in the 4 and it didn't sit centrally in the upper antenna band, being shifted awkwardly low. Very "un-Apple". Most people wouldn't care or even notice but as a product designer myself I always appreciated Apple's attention to detail like that.

I cannot believe I never noticed that detail on the iPhone 4 camera lens. So that's why my 5s looks awkward next to my old 4

(that, and the fact that it feels like a tv remote control)

Forget the BANDS...why would APPLE take away the better FLASH?

I just don't get all these either fake real backs I have seen or is APPLE ditching the better flash??

As with the iPhone 4 leak... people said "Look at those breaks in the steel on the side. That design is un-Apple."

Then Steve explained their existence at the keynote as being a part of the antenna system and blew us away.

I have a feeling the iPhone 6 lines contribute to some functionality that we don't know about yet. Maybe wireless charging...

Yeah, but at least the 4/4S antena breaks on the sides of that phone are FAR more subtle than the glaring thick bands on the new 6 mockup.

I doubt they'd ditch the new 5S flash. It's just been redesigned to a circle shape.

Maybe the white bands are LED lights..

iPhone 6G (glow)

I think if you want the small logo to light up buy a MBP. The power to light it up has to come from somewhere and that usually would be the battery. I would rather have my battery last than an Apple logo on iPhone light up.

This is hilarious. Those bands jut out and are clearly some temporary separate shell placed over the phone originally for some legitimate manufacturing reason, but now kept in place in the stream of leaked photos just to rustle jimmies.

Taking 2 years to get the iPhone into this form factor is rather lackluster.

I guess it's all about milking the market these days, but I agree with you 100%. If the iPhone 6 mock-ups are true, all Apple would have done is round the sides, add those thick and hideous antenna bands, and up-scaling the boring design of the 5/5S. The worst part is that the phone still has those ugly and uncessarily large top and bottom bezels filled with wasted space.

Even so, Apple will sell millions of these and will make a lot of money in the process. :apple:

It's funny how we keep getting these leaks and the design is a little different every time.

It makes me think they are all fake, including this one.

I sincerely hope the iPhone size/design specs that leaked last March, that EVERY iPhone 6 mockup has been based on since, will not be the final design. I know it's very unlikely at this point, but somewhere deep down inside, I hope Tim has doubled down on security as promised so that we can really be surprised during the keynote's "real" iPhone 6 unveiling. That would be amazing.

I know, I know, wishful thinking… :(

You automatically assume that a dual flash is not possible in a circular setup. Apple has very powerful manufacturing contacts and could potentially develop a bespoke circular design. No need to panic as yet.

2010: "iPad? Huge bezels! Ugly!"
*buys iPad
"iPhone 4? Flat glass back and breaks? Ugly!"
*buys iPhone 4
2012: "iPhone 5? Glass inserts and tall screen? Ugly!"
*buys iPhone 5

The too tall and disproportionate iPhone 5/5S design is hideous, and the reason that I did NOT buy it when my 4S was due for upgrading.

I hope the 6 delivers.

The bottom bezel is at its minimum because of the Touch ID. The top has to be proportional per Apple design written in their patent. Otherwise, it'll look like HTC One...(small head, big butt bezels). These large Antenna bands are nothing more than just stick-on protective bands which should be peeled off later. Apple must be crazy to make the antenna bands protrude that way. You want a nice small top/bottom bezels, go with those android phones. iPhone is not only for the look, but performance.

Understood, but IMO, the home button and Touch ID is overrated and could have been re-designed to minimize those hulking ugly top and bottom bezels. The iPhone's footprint could have been made a little smaller in the process, lending space to a bigger screen, but smaller overall size. THAT would have been ideal and would have helped the "look" of the phone.

No functional purpose could justify that fugly white ducktape lines on any design, let alone Apple. I hate it even if it's for teleportation.
