True last question I promise hehe does it indeed come from Brooklyn NY like the location says? can't stand waiting if it's china looking at a 3 week wait
I ordered mine on a Sunday night and had it on Tuesday from good old Brooklyn (I'm in NJ). It was shipped 1st class mail.

$5 case and its not leather? thats crazy and this guys feedback proves he sells quality items

http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA...ch=negative&interval=30&_trkparms=negative_30

Yea, I saw that and took a major chance investing $4.99.

yeah but a $5 case you cant lose i was just given you a bad time

Yikes recent feedback is really bad but ah well can always get your cash back via Paypal. If you notice though none of the bad feedback is about the case.

Hopefully he doesn't get kicked off eBay and I get my case before LOL

Velcro? There would be no place to put any velcro that would do anything unless you put it on the glass. OIC, maybe on the back to hold the cover folded back. Velcro would cost more than the case! :)

I have no idea. Just going by what I read on amazon. I also read that there is no cutout for the microphone. Have you tried recording any audio with the iPad in the case?

Where is this case listed on Amazon? This one was off eBay.

Never used the microphone nor do I intend to, however it's nothing you couldn't fix with a 1/64th inch drill bit or the hot tip of a 6 penny nail. :)

I didn't care about any of that stuff. It was $4.99 and it's purpose was (as stated in the OP) "to hold me off until all the 3rd party manufacturers get their magnetic ducks in a row."

You'd think I was talking about a $99 Corinthian leather case the way everyone was dissecting a $4.99 item. :D

I know it's on ebay, but Amazon sells it too, and they have a nice user-review system. I don't care how cheap it is, if it so poorly designed that it inhibits certain functionality I'd prefer to spend more on a better product. Since you have one and you opened a discussion about it I figured I could garner some useful information, but apparently not.

Well, OP, Thanks...

I haven't received it yet but I got it for the same reason as you -- to get my wife using the dang thing while she makes up her mind about what GOOD case to get.

Even if we just have it as a backup, I don't really care... I've spent/lost $5 on much dumber crap.

My reply to you was WHERE was this listed on Amazon which you obviously missed as I am fully aware of their reviews. I couldn't find it there when I first looked:

I would think they weren't reviewing a $5 case on Amazon, or maybe I am wrong. I would look at an item differently if I paid $5 for vs. $25. Also, you first TOLD me there was no cutout for the microphone then you ASKED me if there was no cutout for the microphone. Didn't realize you wanted confirmation again. Frankly I didn't even know where the microphone is on an iPad. I have since looked it up and found the tiny pinhole sized microphone on top so my comment still goes. So to confirm what you told me, there is no cutout and a tiny hot nail would easily create one in the synthetic leather AKA vinyl.

As stated in the OP, I suggested this $4.99 (inc shipping) case as a "temporary" case for protection of the device until the new cases all get fixed therefore not for "permanent use" which was why I wasn't that interested in all the features being fully functional. I was surprised the sleep magnet worked. It only has one magnet in it but I guess it is in the right place (tested by sticking a razor blade flat along the top of the case flap). Sorry my previous informaton wasn't useful hopefully this gave you the details you needed.

98.7% good out of 235,000+ sales isn't so shabby a score. You can't make everyone happy. And did you read some of the complaints? I wish I could have averaged 98.7 throught my schooling.

Again, only $4.99 ;)

yeah but consider the 667 revised negative feedbacks and then its not so good, i also tend to support American sellers it may cost more but tax dollars do help OUR economy by keeping americans off the streets and supporting OUR schools.

They are in Brooklyn NY so why do you assume he is not an "American Seller?" If you are saying you won't buy from them because they MAY be Chinese or middle-Eastern (or whatever) descent that could be taken as a racist comment.

Frankly this discussion is absurd. If you don't like the product or the seller then don't spend the $4.99.

Ordered. Thanks for the heads up.

Looks really similar to the iPad 1 case and I'm sure it will tide me over until I find that perfect case.

I've got a pocket knife that can fix the missing microphone hole right up. Not that I've even used the microphone so far.

I got my tracking number should be here in a couple days. I'll post some flicks of this baby just for the hell of it. :)

Ordered mine today and I'm in the city so hopefully it arrives quickly! I was using this ugly $40 griffin case as my temporary but now time to return it to Best Buy!

Got my case yesterday. I gotta say, for $5 this is a great deal. It's not the greatest case in the world, but it certainly gets the job done well. Gonna hold me over until I get a nicer case.

Got Mine!

Just got mine in the mail and it is a great deal! My IPad 1 case was a Chinao that replicated the Apple one and this one approximates it well. The New iPad slides in easily, and the case does everything it is supposed to. The "leather" is a mediocre fake, but for $4.99 (and free shipping) it will be a great temporary/spare while I search for the perfect BT keyboard folio.

Shipping was fast too.

I got mine today and am definitely pleased with it, it fits great. It doesn't slide around or slip out like I read some reviews but I dont know if that's because I got a full body skin.

It doesn't feel extremely cheap either, I am going to hole punch a cutout for the mic though as there isn't an opening. Is it supposed to work with the sleep/wake magnet function? mine doesn't but for the price no complaints here. :)

Mine works 100% which was why I posted this in the first place. Are you sure it is enabled on your iPad settings? Also it may be the "magnet polarity issue." On previous iPads the polarity of the case's magnet didn't matter, now it does. Seems some original smartcovers have the same problem. If you cut a slit and slide out the magnet then flip it around (or over?) it probably will work.

The price just went up to 9.99, glad I ordered when I did..
Still $4.99 on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/CaseCrown-App...99I8/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1332389520&sr=8-4 Free shipping if you have Prime or a $25 purchase.

Edit: From the reviews on Amazon it looks that on has no elastic strap to lock it closed.

Mhmm perhaps the black is different from my brown case, is yours Case Crown?

It doesn't feel like the flap/cover even has magnets on mine it is thin but it is hard and sturdy. I don't get how the magnet closure would work though even if it did have magnets since the edge and frame of the iPad isn't really exposed...you know how the case has a lip all around the edge of the frame?!

It's a CaseCrown, Might be different but I can't see why. Here is a picture of where the magnet is on my cover (yes, it's a hard cover). It seems to be a 1/2" diameter round magnet 3" in from the right side of the cover and about 1/2" down from the top. If you rub your finger over that spot you will see the shape of the magnet (if it has one).

It's definitely enabled in my settings and ah I see the imprint of your magnet mine is completely missing I believe. This is the area you are talking about right, no imprint on mine: http://img594.imageshack.us/img594/3167/imageuvm.jpg

Interesting. The imprint is there because I ran the back of a pen around it. Did you try sticking a blade or paperclip to it? Maybe like you said, only the black has the magnet.
