I went to the Apple Store today to try the sizes/colours etc. I didn't notice that much difference between the two sizes on my wrist tbh. I've attached photos I'd really appreciate a second opinion :)

I’ve spent some time reading this entire thread from the beginning - there are certainly a lot of helpful people here in this community! There are a lot of thoughtful replies and comments with good insights.

I know it’s been mentioned a few times that photos aren’t necessarily accurate based on wide angle vs telephoto shots, and needing to see more of the complete picture in terms of hand size and forearm size, but I’m still going to post some pictures and see if anyone cares to offer their opinion :)

I took these photos at an Apple Store before reading this thread so they’re not the best.

My wrist is 170mm.

Thanks so much!!

There is one more thing worth to mention. The 40mm Apple Watch is much better (on any wrist < 18cm) to show off your band. All bracelets/bands/straps have much better appearance on a smaller watch. If AW fills entire wrist then the band goes just straight down under the wrist and you can't really see it much.

So, my point is the 40mm AW is much better in sense of regular watch (as a fashionable accessory) when you can change straps/bands and raddically change the whole look of your watch.

And unless you have a really big wrist (>18cm) it's much better to get the 40mm AW.

Hi people, I’ve been looking at a new series 4.
I currently have a 42mm series 3 and have tried a 44mm which personally I’m feeling is too big so have also tried a 40mm which I think looks better but I’d love to hear your thoughts. Please take a look at the pics below

Both looks good on your wrist. Just a matter of your taste. You'll not look ridiculous with either watch.

Yeah the 44mm band actually makes contact with your wrist as it wraps around so it looks good. I think it’s a decision based on some earlier comments: do you want something that looks more like a traditional watch or a smart watch? They both look good on you to me.

Thanks guys and gals, nice to get thoughts. I think I’ll go for the 40mm I feel the 44mm is a little too big.

Only problem now is all my bands I have are 42mm so they won’t fit a 40mm

If you have 42 now, and you are ok with the size, the 44 is nearly the same size.
The 42 is 42,6mm, so the 44 is only 1,4mm higher. 0,7mm on both sided.
And as the 44mm has more rounded corners it looks a tad smaller or at least the same soze than 42.

See that’s the thing although the numbers show it to be not that much bigger than a 42 when I tried it on it just seemed a lot bigger

I decided to get the 40 because I liked your POV oleksi. Excited for it to come now, was hoping for even a little discount somewhere for Black Friday though. I’m in the uk and when I checked before midnight last night currys was saying £20 off Apple Watch 4 but the code wouldn’t work when I tried to order then it was taken off before midnight so I assume it was an error in the first place

Figured I'd get a third opinion here as well.

I've sent these pictures to a lot of people and most of them said go 44m (the 40mm looks too small while the 44mm looks too big so they said go big)

Pictures attached (first one is 40mm rest are 44m)

People with 40mm how's the battery life? I had a 44mm ended up returning I felt it was a bit too big on my wrist. Battery life was pretty good with 44 mm 70-80% battery end of day but I don't think I can get that much out of 40mm battery.

170mm wrist here. I took the two best measuring devices I could think of my 17 year old daughter and my wife individually on two separate visits. Both said the 44mm.

So ... I scooped up a silver aluminum GPS 44. This is my first Apple Watch. I did not see the need (nor desire) to pay $120+ per year for LTE.

The 44mm looks too big imo. The 40mm looks just right

I’ve squeezed just under 2 days so far, only had it a few days. Although I’m working nights at the moment so can’t really gauge it properly until I’m on days

I'm a petite female and just got my 40mm yesterday. But am tempted to return it and get 44mm instead because it's got better battery life & I do find 40mm screen a bit too small especially when checking emails. What do you guys think? Do you think 44mm would be too big & look ridiculous on my super tiny wrist?

You have super small wrists. I personally would only in your case get the 44mm if you need it for your eyesight.
