Well, 40mm looks kind of.... perfect on you!I had the 42 and I got the 40.

I didn’t have a ruler so I used a cable and the measuring app. About 165-167. Around there I think. I have skinny wristsWell, 40mm looks kind of.... perfect on you!Really, perfect fit and look. What's your wrist size?
Completely agree with this. The 40mm Apple Watch looks like (at least to me) a stylish accessory, like a real watch. And 44mm looks like a smartwatch (i.e. small iphone).
My wrist size is 17cm and I just could not buy 44mm. I've tried both sizes at the store (and I wanted to have a bigger screen), but 40mm looks just right (like a watch) on my 17cm wrist and 44mm looks like a big screen tied to my wrist.
Oh, BTW this is how my 40mm looks on my wrist:

That would be what I would recommend. I went 2-3 times to the store to try them on it was extremely hard for me to decide. Eventually I went with the 44. It is also for Christmas but we put my order in now because of the long wait for the stainless steel models.I’m going to have to go to a store and try them on, but I’m used to wearing 38mm watches. I thought for sure I’d get the 44mm Apple Watch since I have around a 7” wrist size. But I think the 40mm will be more to my liking and what I’m used to. Looking to get one for Christmas.

Looks like a stylish and elegant accessory (i.e. watch). The 44mm version would look like big gadget on your wrist. The size difference between 40 and 44 mm versions is HUGE. I'm pretty sure the strap on 44mm watch will go straight down from the top of your wrist (and not around the wrist like it should be).but I do wonder if the 44 would look better...

But, if you can go to the store and make photo of 44mm on your wrist then it would be much easier to advise.
Yep, I know. I was ment to say that bigger AW would look inapropriate like this:You get a s/m and m/l strap with the 44mm sports version

Wow the 44. Looks huge. Hmm now IDKYep, I know. I was ment to say that bigger AW would look inapropriate like this:

The strap on 44mm goes traight down, you almost can't see the strap from above. This is the wrong way to wear the watch. It looks ridiculous.
Here is much better fit:

On this photo we can see the strap on both sides of the watch.
View attachment 803625 I got the 40mm because it was the only available and I didn’t want to wait 3 to 4 weeks for the 44mm. But now I think this size is just perfect. The 44mm looks oversized and unnatural to me. My wrist is 190mm.
I would definitely change the strap color to a black or a blue one (of course if you're not a girl with huge hairy handsI got the 40mm because it was the only available and I didn’t want to wait 3 to 4 weeks for the 44mm.

After a fiting session I (well my wife decided) that a 44mm looked better. I'm pretty tall myself (197cm) with small wrists (175mm). The 44mm just seemed right in comparrison with the 40mm, which looked more like a toy on my wrist.
It's not just the size of your wrists but also the length of your arms, size of your hands etc. etc. that determine the right size.
I’m worries that this may be a common trend. They just can’t make them fast enough.UPS said it world be delivered Thursday but now they don't have an estimate anymore.
You have some serious thin wrist, I mean even 40mm looks kind of big on your wrist.Yep, I know. I was ment to say that bigger AW would look inapropriate like this:

I am using 44mm on 165mm wrist, 44 is hairline bigger than 42 but to be honest, it does look like a proper male watch, if I compare it with 40mm. In my opinion 40 looks like a female watch.Still not too sure about which one to have; got my 40mm last week and really love it (especially because all my bands are still working with it...), but I do wonder if the 44 would look better...
165mm wrist.

This is really a nice observation, we should really give weightage to our built, hand size arms and overall look rather just looking at the wrist size in isolation. After a fiting session I (well my wife decided) that a 44mm looked better.
