40mm vs 44mm Apple Watch S4 - Which will you get?

Just a couple millimeters of added size makes a noticeable difference in readability. Not much of a question for me with my 7 3/4" wrists, but for anybody I'd say go as big as you can stand. As long as its not hanging off the edges of your wrist I say 44mm.

I prefer a watch to look in proportion on the wrist rather than be a screen dominating. I think the first picture looks nicely in proportion and you can see the design of the watch better.Those arguing that the extra screen size of the 44mm is easier to see/interact with is just a dud case. If you can’t press a button on a screen 4mm smaller then perhaps it’s your eyesight you need to get seen to. I see many smaller sized men and women wearing the larger watch and it looks bad on their wrist. Everyone’s eyesight and dexterity is different but for something you wear everyday of really should not dominate your wrist just for the sake of a bigger screen. Battery also, it’s really negligible as most people charge it when needed or by habit they just drop it on a charger overnight. An oversized accessory of any kind just looks distasteful. I’m 182 tall and well built but i wear a 40mm because it just looks “neater” and discreet. Wear the technology and don’t let it wear “you”!
A 6ft guy here. Was initially attracted to the 40mm since my other watches have been relatively unobtrusive pieces of functional jewellery. However I’ve started running and have been using my old watch more as a functional watch for fitness. And the larger size is definitely better for that. But still, I think the 40mm one is better for all-round wear.
I sort of guessed at the time of their post it was a joke seeing as it’s so unbelievably provocative and false lol. I had expected them to respond with ‘sorry just a wind up’ but they never did.
It’s great there are two sizes to choose from. I’ve got a 40mm S5 and my wife has a 40mm S4. Over the years I have encountered people here who think the sizing is gender specific which is rather odd.
Has been said many times already but hopefully the attached picture will help those that are undecided. Depending on your wrist size the 44mm can look ginormous.

That looks like you taped an iphone to your wrist.I’ve always had the 38/40mm as I am a woman with small wrists but yesterday I bought the 44mm and I love it!
To each his own I guess, but holy crap that is way too bigYour wrist looks the same as mine! I stuck with the 42/44 cos my friends say the big face looks nicer on my watch, and personally I also didn’t like how small the smaller one looks. Here’s my pic... 3rd party cuff but u can see the size of the watch vs my wrist.
so far all’s good except I’ve grown to live with the fact I can’t wear certain Bands (all 44mm Hermes and Milanese loop)but I’m ok with it

7” wrist, here, and the pictures and discussion convinced me to cancel my order for a 44 mm SE and order the 40 mm instead.

For those wondering, build does often have as much to do with watch fit as wrist size does. For example, a shorter man with big arms and hands, but with relatively small wrists, can often look good in a big watch. Conversely, a tall, slender man with an average wrist size often looks good in a smaller watch. It depends on many factors (and taste.)
I personally like 40mm, because it reads similar in size to a lot mechanical watches. Here is an old pic with my 38mm Series 0.
