I am a runner (marathoner) and run with Apple Watch Series 3. GPS accuracy is great - I've run with Garmin and TomTom watches in the past. Only issue I have is heartrate monitor does tend to dropout, especially in colder weather when you sweat less. The Series 4 has a 2nd gen HR monitor, which I am hoping will fix this. Can't comment on size as I have small wrists and have a 38mm.
Hi are you sure the heart rate monitor that tends to dropout is due to the apple watch and not your heart? I’m asking because my heart rate also drops from 123bpm to 60bpm while running but I also got this same heart rate dropout with my other 3rd party heart rate device.

Just got my 40mm. I gotta say, it's really small. I have thin wrists, but it's difficult to say if the bigger one would be better.

i am honestly thinking lots of people going to regret getting the 44mm on the longer run due the size of the watch.
If anything, I consider the 44mm very small to be the biggest available option. There are loads of bigger watches and many of those are even being worn by women with small wrists.

I'm considering getting one when I go to the US next month. I'm torn between the sizes though. If you buy from a store in the US, can you exchange or get a refund in the UK?

People who say they have skinny wrists, do you know the size of your wrists? My wrists are about 145-150mm and I have a 42mm S0 now and I'm torn.

I was all set to go with 44mm since I love all the extra screen real estate. Then I looked at the App where it shows the true size and I think the 44mm looks too big for my wrist. I'm leaning towards 40mm now.

I put one on the "show off your Apple Watch" thread

In the pic it looks pretty big on your wrist. Do you know your wrist size?

From my experience at the store today, the 40mm should be fine in most cases since the bigger screen helps but I still prefer the 44mm Watch.

Just picked up the white sports band 44 ss. Here’s the photo compare to my 42 series 2 aluminum. The other photo is my series 2 42 aluminum and 40 series 4 aluminum.

My husband convinced me to get the 44 but I am not 100% happy. I usually don’t like big watches or big chunky jewelry and I still feel it looks ridiculous on me although the screen size it’s a plus for me (I don’t see very well).

Damn! I ordered the 40mm silver aluminum which arrive by UPS at 11:45am. Just went to the Best Buy next to my office at lunch and they have the new series 4. Tried on the 40 and 44 and the 44mm was a MUCH better fit. Also, really like the space grey over the silver now. Looks like I will need to return the 40mm and wait in line for the 44 space grey now...

I've just been to try them on. The new ss gold is STUNNING!!! Not keen on the 40mm as it's too small for my liking and i'm used to wearing the 42mm. With that said, i think the 44mm will take a bit of getting used to but i think i can pull it off.

GIRL...that looks awesome on you! Don’t exchange it!!! You’ll regret it later if you do. I had the series 3 42mm and when I first put it on, my stomach dropped and I thought I made a big mistake. I didn’t exchange it, and after a week I got use to it and LOVED it. It really looks good on you...enjoy

My wife just saw my new Apple watch, even though I told her I should get her one with my order and said no, now she wants one, she loves the 44mm and wants it in gold, so ordered one for her few mins ago, it'll arrive late October, around the time she gets her Xr too.

VERY happy with my 40mm, coming from a 42mm. Perfect fit for my 165 cm wrist!! SS looks absolutely gorgeous!
