42mm SGS vs Microsoft band

I ordered my Apple Watch at xx:15:08, according to Apple Support. In the meantime I decided to try a Microsoft Band. I ordered the Apple Sport on purpose because I want a watch that I can wear to work, to the gym, and use when I run. I also wanted a watch to track my daily activities. I also like the notification features of email, phone calls, and text messages on my wrist; it's pretty cool that you can drive get a vibration, twist your wrist and preview the email, text, or see who's calling.

Day 4 of Microsoft Band (which works with Apple, MS Phones, and Android phones); very smart idea, I know, I know, they have to. The Band works very well, and the application you download from the Apple Store is very well put together. I went to the gym this morning and spent 1 hour on the stair master machine. The Band tracked my heart rate and determined my peaks, lows, calories burned, fats/carbs burned, and fitness benefit.

I know I'm close to getting my Apple Watch (probably 27 May :)), but I'm seriously considering keeping the Band and selling the watch on eBay. The Band does an excellent job tracking my heart rate, monitoring sleep patterns (average so far 91% efficiency), and integrates with Mapmyrun and Myfitnesspal perfectly.

You can also add twitter (/yawn), Facebook (if i were 10), Starbucks (hmmm), and many other social media applications to the band.

I'm not an MS Fan Boy, but while I wait it's a viable alternative if it meets your needs; and they're available. I figure I can return/replace every 12-13 days until my Apple Watch arrives.:)

Sorry if this has been asked before -

Would we be charged when the watch leaves China or after it passes through Customs in Alaska?

Any definitive info on this?

I feel the issue is this: when we prepared to order on the 10/4 we all believed we would get our products near enough to the launch date. :apple: clearly knew otherwise. That's what has dented consumer confidence and rightly so. We feel a little misled. People righteously declaring that customers should be patient are missing that very real point.
The launch should have been delayed or customers should have been made clear of the delays so they could have ordered accordingly. Do remember that this is a customer led market. Shoot their confidence and you are done for.

When I ordered, Apple pretty clearly told me that I would have to wait from May 13-May 27 for it. I looked at several other watches that could potentially be delivered on April 24th. I still chose to wait for the SG and its May 13-May 27 delivery timeframe.

I certainly hoped that Apple was under promising and over delivering, but I never felt misled. They told me an expected delivery range and we are still within that range.

When I stayed up until 3am on April 10, it was not , and let me be explicitly clear here with this point, it was NOT to order a watch I would receive 2 months later. I stayed up to place an order for a watch to be delivered on April 24th. ONLY AFTER I had stayed up, got into the store, and selected my watch was I told I would have to wait nearly 2 months. For the entire week leading up to the 10 I resolved that I would be placing an order early and getting a watch on release date.

Do we ?? Are you sure??

Sometimes they tell everyone the ride needs major matinence and then it's out of order for the rest of your vacation.

Think about the poor bastard that died before he got his watch. I mean statistically one of us dropped off before they got it.

I think they should put my watch in a box and mail it to my house. Yesterday.

I think they should cancel that dead guys order so that the queue is one watch shorter and we get all of our watches one watch faster. I mean seriously. What does the dead guy think he's going to do with his watch order? How selfish can a dead guy be?

Has anyone ever been charged on a Sunday??

I have never been charged for my Apple watch on Sunday

Come to think of it I have never been charged for my Apple watch on any day of the week , Damnit

The sports watch with the white band still showed an April 24th delivery long after the SG went to a June delivery.

If you truly wanted a watch that could be delivered on April 24th, you had options. Instead you chose a watch that showed a wait of 4-6 weeks. Now, it seems you regret that choice.

Hey, I get it. You wanted to try on the watch before you bought it. I'm guessing you went to the 5th avenue store to do this. (It's the only one I know that is open at 3AM). You should have went with the strategy that some others did, which is order 2 (or more) watches that appeal to you and then cancel the ones you don't want after trying them on.

I agree this is frustrating. However, Apple said ahead of the pre-order date that there would likely be delays and some models would sell out very quickly. That basically means that those who are willing to buy sight unseen will get them first. By the time you tried them on, you had to wait. Apple told you what the expected wait was, and yet you ordered anyhow. Again, I see that it is frustrating. I don't see it as being misleading.

I am afraid we will simply have to disagree to agree sir.

Anyone else notice they've changed the available ship dates on the product pages for SGS to weeks (6-7 weeks) instead of specific month? Maybe a good sign?

The only good sign I can think of is if my order status changes to "Shipped"

What's funny, every conversation that I've heard about with apple chat (including my own), they've said "we both" ordered the most popular watch. There's a lot of "over acting" going on with them right now to save face.

I'm pretty sure that someone at apple rubs their hands together, has an evil laugh and repeats over and over "they'll never figure it out!" Muahahahah

Hey Apple.... It's not that deep. Most of us understood it was going to take a few weeks. Patronizing doesn't make you look any better.

Hey Apple , put my watch in a box and mail it to my house. I do not care to hear any excuses or reasons, just DO IT!!!

Sometimes (yes more then once, it's been almost 2 months) while driving down the road I yell out the window at the top of my lungs "SEND ME MY $&!?$&!$ WATCH MOTHER$&!?$&!?S !!!!!!!!

Does that make me crazy?

I'm in the Atl area and I haven't seen one person wearing an Apple watch yet.

Slate grey, 04/10, xx:17, don't know the seconds.

I was sure I had ordered xx:12 but I looked at my email and saw xx:17

I went in to try on the watch a few days after 04/10. The guy helping me said Apple gave them half off any Apple watch. The catch....they couldn't order until 8am. He said ordered the slate grey too and had to wait until June.
