A family member's 42 SG Sport, ordered ~15 minutes after the pre-orders went live, was delivered last week dead on arrival. We're waiting on a replacement that is currently scheduled for a Jun 5 - Jun 10 delivery.
Did anyone have to go through this, and how quickly did the replacement ship? We were told that the replacement order gets pushed to the front of the line but were still told 7-10 business days.

In 'Go team!" I was actually referencing and celebrating the diversity that is MacRumors - an awesome community I have helped develop since Jan '02. It's remarkable how large it has grown. So proud! Hence the 'go team!'

I think it's pretty obvious that the delay in receiving our watches is that they are, according to their name, made from grey that is harvested in space. Hence the long lead times. The space black is also harvested off planet, and as most people know, is harder to mine than the grey. I've been tracking UPS space mine shuttles, and there are three waiting to exit orbit soon. Hopefully that means we will be waking up to some shipping notifications in the 2-3 weeks it takes to smelt the grey ore, make it into watches, and ship them to us. What do we all expect? Just a simple grey anodizing process rather than a standard silver anodizing one? Hahaha. (In all seriousness, the company I work for uses a standard "silver" aluminum anodizing process as well as a black. The black is more difficult and time consuming than the standard silver. If not done correctly we see more scrap and rerun. That may be contributing to some of the delay depending on how much colored anodizing capacity they have. It's an extra tank with tin in it. At least that's what they use for our product)

I wrote a long post somewhere about correlation not equaling causation, but that is where we believed they are shipped out of and we hope after no flights from there in three days we some big movement.
Probably, but I don't know how.
I'm not sure if the planes go to East Midlands Airport direct, or if UPS receives them at their European hub in Cologne then distributes them from there.

My AppleCare charge has just appeared on my bank account. I know Apple seems to do this on and off, but I've been watching my account pretty regularly and this is the first time I have noticed the charge appear for me!
