What's wrong with Windows? I love the OS, although I have used it for most of my life, so I guess this is subjective to what OS you prefer, but I still see no problems with Windows, and I use OS X a bit as well, no problems.
That issue has been debated on here since this site was founded. I won't have the debate again - I'll just say that I've used both windows and os x machines for many years and think there's no comparison. I also have an iPad, iPhone, and Apple TV so a Mac makes more sense for that reason also.

Well...haha...I guess I'm never gonna get anyone to say they love Windows on a Mac forum, am I? I should've realised that.

I have no qualms in saying i love Windows. I don't currently have a Mac but will likely get one when Skylake iMacs are released, because I miss having OS X for Continuity with my iPhone. But I'll still spend 50%+ of my time in Windows.

I can't stand Windows compared to OS X.

I think it's because, like many of us, it's what you grew up using and what you're used to. If you'd grown up using PCs with Windows you would say the exact opposite, I guarantee you. ;)

I have grown up using Windows Machines.

And I still say that OSX, overall is much, much better OS, and Mac as a computer is much, much better experience than Windows PC.

First PC was Celeron 700 MHz, 64 MB or RAM and Riva TNT2 ;).

I grew up using both in equal amount. I much prefer using OSX. That said Windows is perfectly usable, doesn't matter either way all that much.

Hmm...well there's no perfect OS in reality, I've used both and they each have their own pros and cons or strengths and weaknesses, IMHO.

I must say that if OS X was more user friendly and the programs that I use were natively supported on the OS X platform, I might be tempted to completely jump ship over to OS X.

I’ve used both for years and there is a lot I like about both and a lot I dislike. My ultimate OS would be a Windows 7/Mountain Lion hybrid OS.

I’ve been getting more annoyed with Apple as of late with their OS’s which I agree with kazmac when he said “weirdo issues with Mavericks and Yosemite (which I believe is Apple's sloppy rush job)” .

All I want is a machine which works for a few years. Get my money's worth. I hope whatever iMac I purchase to eventually replace my 2010 will last me at least the standard 3.5 years (this 2010 is the most durable of all the iMacs I've owned, bless it.)

I find it disappointing many of the issues I've been having can be traced back to Yosemite itself. Ah well. Bring on the new iMacs and El Capitan.

Iris Pro 6200 is going in the base iMac (for $1,299 as I don't count the $1,099 model) and then the M380 will go in the upper 21.5 model. The M390 will go into the base 27" retina possibly with an upgrade to the M395 and then the top model will have the M395X.

Pretty much.
Going off Apple's previous schemes when it came to iMacs, I think it would be like this:
21.5"
1,299 Iris Pro 6200, 8GB, 1TB HDD, i5
1,499 R9 M380, 8GB 1TB HDD, i5

27"
1,799 R9 M380, 8GB, 1TB HDD, i5
1,999 R9 M390, 8GB, 1TB HDD, i5
2,299 R9 M395, 8GB, 1TB Fusion, i5
BTO for top model only; i7, R9 M395X

Maybe so.. but the entry level low-res iMac will come most likely with cheaper iGPU... and it will be 4GB.

Entry level Retina iMac 21.5" could be with Iris Pro, and better model is with dGPU.

So, I'll edit your list a little bit:
21.5"
1,299 HD6100, 4GB DDR4, 1TB HDD, i5, low-res display
1,599 Iris Pro 6200, 8GB DDR4, 1TB Fusion, i5, retina
1,799 M380, 8GB DDR4, 1 TB Fusion, i5, retina

Is there a higher end GPU that the 21.5" iMac could take like the top end 27" BTO? And what if Apple were to increase the screen size a couple of inches (23"-24"), do you think it would be more likely to see the top end model get a nice BTO option for an even higher end GPU?

Whatever it ends up being, time to drop the spinners of any type. Yuck. SSD all the time all the way baby! Only exception is maybe some data centers. And with the new Samsung 850 PRO 2TB SSD's, well, you get my drift!

I grew up with windows and home and OS9-OS X at school. I've just always preferred Mac. I prefer everything about it. Whenever I need to help my dad with his crappy windows 8 laptop I want to throw it out the window. I know 10 is supposed to be better but I just don't think windows will ever touch the Mac's integration with trackpad gestures and such. Macs are just so usable.

I think I'll put it like this. Windows users can't understand how Mac users can use OS X and Mac users can't understand how Windows PC users can use Windows. The fact that you said Windows 8 was crappy means you mustn't've used it as your daily driver and therefore can't really say for absolute certainty that Windows sucks in general. I own a MacBook Air and find OS X a pleasure to use just as I do with Windows, and I've used both quite thoroughly. I think it's the case that if you don't completely know how something works you'll say it sucks. I think that Mac users haven't used Windows enough to figure it out, and if you do it really is quite good, you've just gotta take the time and patience to know how it operates, just like a Windows user with OS X.

I have used Windows since 3.11 and only started using a Mac environment when they released 10.2 I think it was. And I have to say I much prefer OS X. To me it is simply a cleaner to use UI/UX. When I run an OS, mobile/desktop or whatever, the OS should keep mostly out of my way and I feel Windows just jumps in my way all the damn time. Not to mention the multi-tasking always feels awfully painful in comparison (I have a lot of windows/apps/tabs open all the time). So at home I run OS X and enjoy it and at work I run Windows and deal with it. I will also throw in I had a long stint running various flavors of Linux as my main OS at home as well. I love Linux but it requires a bit of tinker time should an update run afoul or you run a new piece of hardware and I just do not have the time for that any more.

Inversely I have known long time Mac fans that switched to Windows and even die hard Linux fans switch to Windows or Mac. People will use and enjoy whatever gives the best experience to them at the time when they need it.

Just adding another partial perspective/experience because I felt the need to kill your guarantee. :)

Well, I guess, whatever OS gives you the best personal experience and makes you happy you should go with that. I just wish more Windows programs were cross platform for OS X, like Sony Vegas Pro for example. I use that program quite a lot, but I do have a desire to learn Final Cut Pro X.

Well, whatever floats ya boat mate! Haha :)

Let me keep it simple: I have been waiting forever for Apple to update its computers to Skylake CPUs. Other companies already have them shipping, some for months now.

Even though I desperately need some new iMacs, if no Skylake, NO SALE!

Don't hold your breath for Skylake. I think this 4K 21.5" iMac will have Broadwell in it. I expect significant changes next year on most of Apple's computer lines due to Skylake, Alpine Ridge, and USB-C. I think we'll get redesigns of the iMac and Macbook Pro and refreshed Mac Pro and Mini (maybe a redesign for the Mini as well).
