WRONG!!!

The iPhone was not $399 in 2007. That was the CONTRACT price!!! You were locked into a 2 year contract with AT&T. IF you wanted to buy it out of contract it would cost you about $650 just like today!!!

So iPhones have basically stayed the same price since 2007 while cars have gone up 20%.

The iPhone does not make as much profit as you think. Apple financials prove it. Last year the companies profit margin was only 21%. So an average $650 product only nets Apple $135 in profit.

Not from the us. So did not realise it was contract only.

Actually the price was 599 + 2 year contract, making it the most expansive iPhone ever.

The price has dropped over the years, in 2007 the iPhone was cutting edge.

2015 an iPhone 6S is $199 + 2 year contract

Tech is not getting cheaper?

Also you are completely wrong on the profit margin of an iPhone based on how much the company makes....

Company wide profit margin is 21%
It is mathematically impossible for iPhone profit margin to be higher than 30%.

The original iPhone quickly dropped to $299 in Sept 2007
The 6+ starts at $299 with contract. So no it was not more expensive. Only for a few weeks it was $499. And those who bought it for $499 got $100 back. It is not usually for a 1st generation product to be very expensive.

Your trying to manipulate the facts . Either you don't know or are blatantly moving the goal posts...

1. iPhone 2g Launched June, price drop in sept, few weeks please!

Price was 599

From apple direct http://www.apple.com/pr/library/200...one-Price-at-399-for-this-Holiday-Season.html

2. The 6S starts at $199. Nice try with the 6+....

1st generation arguement..... Do you understand what the others were trying to explain to you.... Tech gets cheaper... Love how you try to twist it...lol your contradicting your own arguement...

Ease up twisting the facts ...

Wrong again. Tech does not have to get cheaper. Look at Rolex watches. Its all about supply and demand and if competitors can duplicate the experience. There is no rule that says someone selling tech needs to drop prices as time goes by.

Based on what? You said so? Evidence , cause sorry I believe you.

Do your own research. Its all there on SEC reports. They tell you total iPhone revenue, company profit and revenue.

Basically if the iPhone had 30% profit margins then the rest of Apple made $0 profit for the entire year.

total rubbish! Rolex is not tech. Not a single bit of electronics in it.

I got a Rolex in 2008 that I can sell for more today, my iPhone 1/5 if I am lucky.

My iPhone have just arrived. Been interesting , but I'm out. Enjoy yours.

I will not bite anymore. both are 128gb and the 16gb are a ripoff in my opinion, and crap user experience with the 6S upgrades

Rolex is tech. Its fashion, jewery, and tech.

McIntosh amps also went up in price through the years. Same with elite level subwoofers.

But again ultimately supply and demand will determine price. There is no rule that states Apple cant raise the price of the iPhone next year.

What media are you using to watch 4k? If you are streaming 4k that isnt real 4k.
I shoot 4k with my Note3 and watch it on my Yoga2 Pro (also 4k)

Also bi-weekly meetups with my friends - we crowd around a 50" 4k TV and game in 4k, and it blows 1080p out of this galaxy

No one is "forced" to do anything. 16gb has ALWAYS been the base model.

And 16gb is good enough for plenty of people out there, or else they wouldn't sell them still. A VERY large majority of the iphone sales are still 16gb phones.

16gb isn't good enough for a phone that can shoot 4K video in 2015. If Apple wants to make a base model for grandma, then they should remove the features that she isnt intended to use.

16gb is just a way for Apple to force the upsell on anyone that actually uses their phone. If the base model was 32gb would anyone upgrade? Unlikely.

My point was JUST to answer his questions and I never said who does what better. He asked 3 questions and I answered 2 of them. I was only answering his questions and I was 100 percent correct in my answers. Tell me where I was wrong.
Chill your boots. I wasn't saying you were wrong or was I following this mundane conversation with any interest. I was just giving my opinion on something I read.

Not interested. This is just bickering. I'm actually to blame, can't believe I baited this long, mods should give us both a time out for breaking the forum rules .

I'm going to try reporting myself, in a hope the mods close this thread ...

[MOD NOTE]
Looks like at this point the discussion is just going around and around. Closing.
