My iPad Mini black 16GB shipped out from Ontario, CA, instead of China.

Oct 27, 2012 1:47 PM Shipment information sent to FedEx
Oct 27, 2012 9:47 AM Picked up ONTARIO, CA Future delivery requested

So did mine. Surprised me a little.

I don't get it... I ordered my ipad mini 16gb white wifi @ 3:04am (toronto time) on launch day.... My shipping estimate is 2 weeks.... WTF!

My smart cover should arrive today or tomorrow.

Same with me except i have my smart cover already when it said it would be here on the 1st,but I live in Jax,Florida, but hopefully the systems inaccurate to the favor of our ipad(mini)/s will arrive earlier then expecting.:apple:

They were sold out on Sunday.. I saw the iPad's at 1 week as of Sunday. So, it sold out in a bit over 2 days, not 4 as is being reported.

Smart Cover should have been here three hours ago. Signed the 'pre sign for delivery' sheet off apple.com and UPS still didn't leave it. Jerks.

None of the tracking tricks work for my Mini. Tried both phone number and serial as a reference on UPS and FedEx's websites. :( Still showing Preparing for Shipment officially.

iPad mini cases?

Besides the covers, what else is out there for cases? Looks like not much.... I am just looking for a cheap case to hold my mini until the nice cases come out....

So, if you see anything on Amazon, let me know..... ;)

thx you!

is fedex the primary shipper for apple? anyone know how to check with ups? i tried the fedex and it didnt find any orders

i tried it with a phone number instead of apple order number and it found my ipad 4 order!

An honest question

I don't want to sound like the typical snarky guy on the internet, but I have an honest question:

For those of you who purchased the iPad mini, what are the primary reasons at this price point?

IMHO, it would be a great buy as a book reader for $199, but at $329, it's just $70 away from the "real thing" with large canvas.

Enlighten me?

Gone but not forgotten ...

My 'delivers on November 21' has gone away ... why would THAT happen?! YIKES! My LTE Mini Verizon ...

Meh

This is no longer newsworthy. All these guys purposely have small pre-order stocks so that they can report sell outs. Amazingly, ever single new product release from every single mobile manufacturer sells out when they release a new product. Going by these kinds of stories, there hasn't been a single phone/tablet release in the past year or two that wasn't a HUGE success. LOL.

----------

It IS amazing. Why would anybody in their right mind claim that Tim Cook is a master of supply chain management?

Every product marches to the tune of the same old drummer - Apple fails to produce them in sufficient quantities to meet demand.

I guess that is the most profitable way to go about it, but it certainly gives the lie to that tired shibboleth that Apple puts the customer first!

LOL. Right..it's a total accident that they sell out every release. Along with every other major product release from every other mobile device company.

Yeah!! Can't wait to get my ipad 4

By the way, just started tripping on...

Thunderbolt and Lightening very, very frightening...

Galileo ...Galileo...

magnificoo....oo....ooo!!

Do you think Apple is tripping on Bohemian Rhapsody? LOL

Sorry, just got carried away.

(Wouldn't be surprised to see that song in an ad)

Happy to enlighten, if I can.

The form factor for me is a big selling point. I have owned a few iPads and have sold them all within a few months. I want something just a little smaller and lighter. Lighter is key. I did not like reading on the iPad(1),(2), or (3) because they were just a little too heavy for long periods of reading when you want to just hold it in one hand. This is why I loved the Kindle I owned for a while.

I also wear a jacket a lot of the year and can see myself tossing the mini in an inside pocket. There were lots of times I wanted to take the iPad with me, but it was just a little too big.

Also, 329 might seem high, but it is still a big savings from the 499 starting point of the iPad4. As a student who has a decent job, but still has to watch what he spends, I like the 170 savings.

Im in the UK and pre-ordered my white iPad 4th gen a few minutes after they became available. Its still showing as preparing for shipment with delivery expected 11/2. I tried phone serial no, my phone number and order number with various delivery companies and nothing came up.

same here. I ordered my iPad mini the night of launch (black 16 wifi) and it still says preparing for shipment. Tried all of the methods and nothing came up.

Im sure well get them on Friday. I think apple just either does not want us to track their package or they are updating the tracking numbers slowly. So unlike the US our tracking numbers appear to be unique supplied by the shipping company.

Wow, who would have thought such a uselessly incremental upgrade would result in lack of popularity?:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Apple should be afraid. They have eroded consumer faith in their release cycle, meaning users like me will WAIT and NOT PURCHASE the newest and greatest product.

EDIT: People, it's called sarcasm. Hence the emoticon ;)

Where's your mini/4? I had to search for mine by reference. Guess its in Kentucky and being shipped by UPS. Always been FedEx before. Can't wait!

You will have to search using your phone number on UPS or FedEx. Thats what I had to do. Apple shows it as processing but in reality it shipped a day ago. They must be having issues updating their shipping status. I ordered a smart cover too which arrived today. Apple's website said it would be here on the 1st, however. Guess early is better. Right?

FedEx this time around

I've had my fair share of stuff come from Apple before and it's always come using UPS before but this time around it looks like FedEx is taking it.

PS for those having trouble using serial numbers or order number try using phone numbers thats what worked for me.

Just spoke to someone at Apple.

I was told that white iPad mini's will not be delivered on Nov 2nd, but will be delivered some time mid November.

Still nothing showing up on UPS or FedEx for me regarding my iPad Mini. I get nada using the iPad Mini serial number. When I use my phone number, the only thing that shows up on UPS is my Smart Cover. Can't find a way to see if there is another package using that number or not. :(

Mine finally changed status to shipped but the UPS tracking number doesn't work. We'll see tomorrow I guess...
