iPod touch 4th Generation iPod touch feature list.

Yeah that too lol. I forgot to mention that.

They could do just 16GB internal to be reasonably priced and just put an SD-HC slot so you can buy 32GB largest now, 64 coming soon so.....

I would prefer and like apple to do that but who knows if they'll put an expansion port. They might worry it'll ruin the "prettiness" that is their products lol.

They seem like they'll just keeping upping the capacity and not do a lower one to keep costs nice and use expansion slots.

- Same screen as iPhone 4G (probably OLED)
- Same camera as iPhone 3GS or 4G
- Built-in microphone
- Vibrate
- White or chrome side buttons instead of black

There are plenty, including myself who couldn't rely on WiFi for Skype calling. You have to assume that Apple continues to upgrade the iPhone a tad bit more then the iPod touch to ensure that your theory doesn't come true.
 
I just wish apple would allow jpeg or png photos to be viewed on the ipod touch without conversion. The converted files are of a lower resolution and take over ten times the space. I have files that take 63 MB on the computer but well over a GB on the ipod touch If you zoom in they start blurring out immediately but if you upload the same images to a website and zoom using safari they do not blur out at all.

I also wish that they would put a mike in it so we can use features like voice control and memos without a external mike

You can get a MIFI2200 wireless router right now from Verizon ($80.00 along with data plan) that will allow you to connect your iPod Touch to the 3G network. The MIFI2200 is pocket sized (very small/portable) and while not as convenient as an iPhone, you will have similar capabilities.

Would you get an iPhone or an iPod Touch / MIFI2200 on Verizon's network if the iPod Touch had the upgrades people suggested ? It would heavily cannibalize iPhone sales.
 
i am going to have to agree with every one on the andonized back plate gorilla glass and the cam as for pricing i think it should be dropped way down
 
+1 for the gorilla glass. i think that would just about put all the screen protector manufacturers out of business. besides, the zune Hd has it. so , me thinks it is a good idea to put it on there, considering, the glass on there isn't THAT resilient.

lol, zunes don't own iPods...I sold my touch and picked up a zune hd back when it came out and its depressing! It takes a good 15 seconds to load what apps they do have... I miss the apps, I miss the jailbreaking, I miss it being my everything device, so I just ordered myself a 32gb 3g iPod Touch today. aaaaaaaaaand if Zune doesn't have it together by october I will be selling my Zune HD as well

There are a lot of things we can say we want, but lets be honest, we're as happy as can be with what they give us, are we not? You all bought iPod touches, and you LOVE them! you can't deny it

what was the point of your post? I was talking about apps anyways, the Zune HD isn't utilizing the supposedly great tegra.

You do not own an iPod Touch, therefore it does not apply to you, so no, you can't.

the "new itouch" was just with the software update. Umm the battery idea is great considerig the battery now is terrible and i like the scratch resistant screen and the camera.
 
I would like, and my fingers are crossed in hyper hopefulness because they're finally getting some real competition from other MP3 players-

LED backlit display (I go outdoors so OLED isn't for me)
128gb
longer battery life
FM radio
Camera (so long as its 2mp)
usual CPU+GPU boosts

Its a conservative guess but I'd buy that in a heartbeat.

it is already LED backlit.

Crossfade. Crossfade. Crossfade. If it works on a Nano (and it does), it can work on an iPod touch. Did I mention crossfade? I would buy a 64 gig touch in an instant if it had Crossfade. One last time... crossfade.
 
I am new to this forum. I have a iTouch 2G which is my first Apple product in a several decades. I have a suggestion for all of you in the Podcast world. http://twit.tv look for the Mac Break podcast. This is a weekly Podcast concerning Apple. What is nice is the fact the people know their stuff and do not kiss earth at the feet of Steve Jobs. They have discussions such as you have here, what feature would be nice, are they going to be included on the next generation, if not why, etc. This site covered the roll out of the iPad with a live stream on the TWiT site. And please check out "Munchcast" it is deadly funny


Do any of you remember Tech TV, and The Screen Savers show? TWiT is run by Leo LaPorte and many of the cast members of the original Screen Savers TV show are podcasting on TWiT.
