I decided to set up a Sierra boot SSD from a partial clone of my Sierra spinner and parking my main boot SSD with High Sierra beta 2.

While using it, the system is stable as long as I do not use the USB 3 ports on the CalDigit FASTA cards. I can live with that.

But the inability to sleep and 3 min plus boot times are just not acceptable. Hope the eventually get that fixed in the next release.

Running a bunch of sysdiagnose right now for the bug reports.

If you mean 3 min boot time in HS on a SSD, disable TRIM can fix it.

I tried that, did not do it on mine. In actual use, APFS did not seem to buy me much.

Upgraded to 10.13.1 incl Supplemental running on HFSPlus. Holding it there for now.

Seems to work pretty well.

After using CAT even the Apple Watch unlock is working - this is the first time I ever got it to work!
