really like it!

but i will wait until 2021 when the models come out with Face and Touch ID embedded in/under the screen.
which, will allow the notch to not be needed any more.

that is the compact size phone to want.

I'm so confused about the model lineup I think I'm going to play it safe and just stick with the one I have.

Kidding, but seriously Apple. We don't need a dozen iPhones a fraction bigger or small than the next

My opinion is 3 is enough

Pro, Pro Max, SE

MAYBE even 2 would be fine

Pro/Max

I won’t get one. My money’s going on the 12 pro max. However I have to admit that I’m really enjoying the compact size of the OG SE that I got recently. It’s a nice contest to my 11 to max.

What makes you think no under-screen Touch ID this year?

It's a little on the large size compared to the original SE. If this becomes real I will be keenly trying in my hand though. The first time I've been properly enticed to test the handling of a new iPhone since the original SE.
I might do the same. However; it really should be smaller, not larger. So I’ll probably end up looking for a spare / new non-phablet SE instead.

As Tim himself said of the original iPhone5:
"As you carry your phone, it should fit beautifully in your hand.”, stating that the width was designed to be ‘perfect’.

Would really like to see the 5.4” compared with 11 Pro 5.8”.
Here you go, if I’d have known this was going to be put on the front page, I’d have put a little more effort into it! my apologies I can’t be more accurate. I was using this iPhone 11 Pro to take the previous pictures, so these images below are being taken with a *cough* iPad *cough*

I should mention again that these straight-on pics are deceptive because the round profile on modern iPhones are quite slimming.

Had the 11 or as I called it, “the brick”. Nice phablet but coming from the original SE a massive downgrade. I like the wireless charging, I did like the battery life. But thats it.
Since there was no touch ID it was basically unusable in these times. We have to wear a mask in supermarkets, or any closed buildings, and thus you can not pay, you can’t even read a message, you can’t scan your subway code, nothing works with face ID. But even without mask its not working with glasses, Moto helmet and even when it sometimes comes thru, you have to press a button twice, at the right speed, to have it “authorized” .
I sold it after 3 Month (got me a year free Apple tv+😀) and got the new SE (2020). That has touch ID, costs half and works. Every time. Fast. You pay with very, VERY bad battery life but thankfully it can charge wireless everywhere, so I managed that. And it has a more normal size. I can even stick into my jeans pocket. Not like the SE but at least possible, not like the 11. So, if this new 12 comes in smaller, I am all for it. But please, touch ID. This mask thing is not going to go away soon, here in Spain nobody believes in clean sailing from now on, everybody fully expects a second wave by October with more restrictions. So, yes, touch ID or no deal.

Here you go

Thank you so much for these. I love my old SE (and yes, I also have these minor indentations in the rear aluminum) and the 11 pro is almost tolerable in terms of size, whereas the regular iPhone 11 isn't. I'm so glad the flat edges are back too, these just feel so much more secure and I can't count the number of great pictures that came out using the timer and just resting the phone on a flat surface, sans tripod.

Depending on the price, I predict this will be a best-seller. I use a computer for serious work, the phone is just a communication device and occasional camera for factual stuff, not real photography. The 4/5/SE were brilliant, I'll take this slightly larger one.

FaceID embedded in/under the screen and no notch is more like a 2023/2024 thing I think.

From what I understand, this won't be one of the Pro models, right? This is so bizarre to me because I would think people in the Pro market might be interested in smaller phones. Also, it's really weird to me that the iPhone 11 is larger than the iPhone 11Pro...they should be the same size. Am I crazy, or does anyone else agree with me? If you want an average sized phone, you have to go with a sub premium model. It just does't make any sense. Apple Watch Edition models are are same size as the Apple Watch Sport models, MacbookPros are roughly the same size as a MacBook Air, and when the iPad Pro first came out, wasn't the smaller size the same size as a regular iPad? Sorry, I'll end my rant.

The 11 is larger than the 11 pro becuase it is not OLED. Non-OLED screens require more space so likely a design decison.

I think for the 12 they are all going to be OLED.

Only thing about this I don’t like is it won’t be the pro.

Definitely going to be my next phone based on the size alone. Holding my XS is very tiring to me. Hopefully the battery is decent.

Looks perfect. I wonder what people will find to whine about it? Maybe the notch, or the lightning bolt plug?

Camera bump. Or double-bump. Always camera bump(s). Also the amazingly-stupid “Siri/sleep button directly across from volume up landscape shutter button.” Wow that was an epic-facepalm-worthy design fail. That should go down in history as Most Stupid Ideas.

Happily, this supposed body shell appears to resolve the complaint about rounded edges being unusable naked.

Height is definitely shorter compared to a 4.7” iPhone. The width difference less so. Still a great one handed option, finally.

Nice to see various size options.

but now I have my 11 I don’t think I could go to a smaller phone
