I agree, I think the 4.7" will be the biggest selling iPhone yet.
I'd say between the 4.7" and the 5.5" Apple will get more than a few former iPhone users who went Android, and it'll sell big to current users of iPhones as well, many of which (I think) are anxiously awaiting a bigger screen.
Wonder if they'll keep a 4" model around for the not insignificant number of users who like the small phone?
Cover all screen sizes...
You may have done but some of us still live here and usually if it's a $100 states-side it's a £100 here unfortunately. It's an extra $100, not an extra 100 pounds. We left Great Britain about 300 years ago now.
You make it sound like there are 23 iPhones sitting on the shelf that you must choose from. But there aren't.
You'll see 3 iPhones on the shelf... then the salesman asks you what color you want and what capacity you want. And he retrieves it from the back of the store.
BTW... Apple sold almost 100 million iPhones over the last 6 months. Clearly it's not as difficult as you think it is.
Few people have thumbs long enough to hold and operate a phone that big one-handed. For some tasks, you'll need two hands.
On the other hand, many tasks will still be operable mono mano.
And perhaps developers will help by putting most commonly used controls within thumb's reach (with a configuration for RHD vs LHD).
The 4.7-5.5" Android smartphones outsell the 4" iPhones worldwide. The 5.5" Samsung Note 3 is the second best selling Android smartphone and #1 is the 5" Samsung S5. If Apple has 4K in the 5.5" iPhone 6 I will get it.Ditto. I think 5.5 is going to fail the "fits in my pocket comfortably" test. I'm not even sure the 4.7 will pass that one, honestly.
I really don't understand the desire for these gigantic phones... I wouldn't choose the 5.5in model if it was the same price much less pay a $100 premium for one.
It better come with 32GB standard then
Huawei have a great solution for this with their latest Emotion UI; One hand UI. It squeezes keyboards, keypads, dialers etc to the preferred side to make them easier to use with one hand.
I know. I posted it to show how ridiculous people look with tablets held up to their heads. If the 5.5" iPhone/Pad sells, believe me, there will be a 7" version that follows...
I almost never use it as a phone but this doesn't change the fact that the 3.5 inch iPhone is perfect. If bigger was "simply better" why aren't we all carrying 17" or 19" laptops around?
You must not have small hands or want to put the tab into your pocket or want to easily hold the tab and answer the call at the same time etc etc. Also holding up a 7" phablet to your face with a phone call just looks silly.
Yes stock is going through the roof because people are buying Apple products in droves, and they buy because that's what they want.
It's an extra $100, not an extra 100 pounds. We left Great Britain about 300 years ago now.
Is the price they charge for the phone really even relevant? Over the past 4 iPhones I've had, none of them have actually "cost" me anything in the long run. In fact, I've actually made money off the iPhone.

Keep dreamingYou know what would be really cool? If they made the 4.7 inch $99, and the 5 inch $199. Imagine, a flagship phone being that price at launch! That would be like Apple's response to the Moto G.
All 4.7-5.5" Android smartphones from Samsung, LG, HTC etc.you mean altogether? or a specific one?
Ditto. I think 5.5 is going to fail the "fits in my pocket comfortably" test. I'm not even sure the 4.7 will pass that one, honestly.
