Apple has updated their iPod Touch App Store page with a link to the iTunes Stores for iPod Touch owners to upgrade to the 2.0 Firmware. The $9.95 upgrade brings all of the 2.0 Firmware features to the iPod Touch.

For iPod Touch owners who never upgraded to the previous January pay update, Apple announced that the latest $9.95 update includes the January update as well.
On June 9, 2008, Apple announced the iPhone 2.0 Software Update for iPod touch which includes all features previously included in the January Software Upgrade, the App Store, and much more (also on June 9, the iPod touch January Software Upgrade was also removed from the store). For information about iPhone 2.0 software, visit www.apple.com/ipodtouch/appstore.
The 2.0 iPod Touch firmware link currently does not lead anywhere.

Some iPhone owners were able to download the free iPhone 2.0 Firmware early, but Apple has asked us to pull the link. We expect the official iPhone 2.0 Firmware upgrade (which is free) will be distributed shortly.

I wonder if the iPhone 2.0 link that was up yesterday is the real official release version. I hope I don't have to restore mine again, that process seems to take forever when your so excited you can pee your pants!

2.0 firmware in Europe/Asia?

So even though the iPhone has been on sale in Europe/Asia for hours now, the local iTunes Stores aren't offering the 2.0 firmware either?

Also at the same time, Crash bandicoot was unleashed

Beginners question:

I have my iPod touch connected to www via W-Lan. What do I have to do now to download the 2.0 upgrade (once it's released)?

I thought it was my fault that the link didn't work. Pleased it's the same for the rest. Those suckers who bought the january app pack Now have to pay another 10, So they paid 30 while the rest 10 :p

It's rude to point!

*cries into wallet*

Well, untill now I jailbroke my dad's ipod touch, but I have to admit it was time for a more steady way of having apps on your ipod touch. No blame against the devs that worked on the jailbreaking, unlocking, activating apps, but everytime I jailbroke my dad's ipod touch it didn't work or crashed, etc..

I'm now VERY happy that the Apple is getting reasonable with the ipod touch extra pack things, and selling the 2.0 and extra apps for 10.

It is your fault; you broke the internet!@

I wonder if jailbroken iPods can take App Store apps. Is this possible? Seems like the Jail breaker community is laughing at us; here we are trying to buy the update and can't while they've been enjoying the same applications we've all been clammering for.

Stupid link!!!

I have an iPod touch and I'm freaking DESPERATE for this software update thingy, i've nearly downloaded all the free apps already!!! Just except the crap ones :) grrr!!!!! bring it out Appleee

Sorry for those that shelled out 20 in January.. personally, I'm glad I was broke and waited.. :)

I haven't been this excited about spending 10 bux in a long time.. well maybe for Dark Knight tickets..

jailbroken 2.0 ipod touch's maybe can. But for 10 it isn't a big need anymore to have a jailbroken ipod touch.
