5870 Order Status Thread (Update as yours changes) ***UPDATED***

So for those of us that ordered the 5870, I wanted to create a thread where we can keep track of the status changes and shipping of it. If you want, we could put down order times and get a list of how many people ordered and in what order, that way we could see everybody slowly being checked off the list and an idea of when yours will come next.

Hmm, I popped an order on the UK store earlier today but am yet to receive a confirmation email of any sort. I can see the order details on the store site though. Did you get a confirmation when placing yours?

Nope.

I suppose Apple will wait until they have an estimated ship date.
 
no confirmation yet :(

My CC was charged though... but i'm sure after 10 days it will go away like usual. Happened with the iPad as well.

Same verbage on shipping times as everyone else.

Still no order confirmation e-mail. As I mentioned in my other thread, I contacted Apple order support about the order confirmation e-mail about an hour after I placed the order, and I was told at the time that they probably just have a lot of orders going through.

1.5 days later, something tells me he didn't know what was going on. :D But he did say the order was in the system and was still processing.

Also it appears my credit card has already been authorized for the cost of the card.
 
Just placed my order on the Canadian Apple Store. Says it will take 3-6 to get to my house once it has shipped even with the expedited method. :( By the way, I plan on calling Apple's Executive Customer Service tomorrow and asking when these things will actually ship. I'll keep you guys updated :D

So I did a live chat with an Apple support agent through the online store about the non-existant confirmation e-mail:

Hi, my name is <Agent>. Welcome to Apple!

<Agent>: Hello!

You: hello, i have a question on order # Wnnnnnnnnn

<Agent>: Sure, give me a second to pull your order up!

<Agent>: Okay, what was your question?

You: i placed this order last friday, but have never received an e-mail confirmation for it. wanted to know if everything is ok with the order.

<Agent>: Okay. The part you ordered is currently out of stock.

<Agent>: Your order did go through, but it has not shipped yet.

<Agent>: When it ships you will receive an email with a tracking number.

You: i see. is there an ETA for when it will be back in stock?

<Agent>: I am showing in your order that the estimated shipping date is within 5 days.

You: so it is estimated to be in stock within 5 business days?

<Agent>: Yes that is what I am showing.

<Agent>: If you do not receive the email within this week, I can give you a number to contact for more information on availability.

You: that would be great. could you give me that # please?

<Agent>: The number for Customer Service and Sales Support is 1-800-676-2775.

You: great. thank you very much for your help!

<Agent>: You are very welcome. Sorry again your order is delayed!

If it ships within 5 days, that would be great news! However I'm not very optimistic about that.

Way to go, Apple. Always one full generation behind......... :rolleyes:





Can't wait till Cindori & crew get their hands on an HD 6970 and develop an EFI for it. ;)
 
I'm on the phone right now with Apple and I've been told my order doesn't exist. Except my card has been charged $500.76.

They even transferred me to Apple Relations and they have no idea what's going on either.

EDIT #1: After 20 minutes on hold, one of the sales managers found my order stuck in the system. Was promised an email confirmation within 24 hours. Hopefully by then I can check the estimated time it will ship.

UPDATE: Strange... Apparently Apple has no record of my order????? :confused::confused:

I am on the phone with them as well and they are claiming the same thing with my order.
 
Ok guys just got off the phone and I gotta tell you its's NOT GOOD NEWS!!! ... It seems that Apple never received my order and most

probably NO 5870 orders as well since when I was on the phone with the agent in California he got me to go on my order and try to cancel it but sadly i could not because

it said I had to wait 15 minutes for it to be processed! The agent I spoke to admitted himself that the 4 month wait for it to become available to order is ridiculous and he

says they have NO CLUE WHEN OR IF THEY WILL SHIP THIS PRODUCT!!! He said I strongly recommend you try to get it from a third party

reseller.... So ya the light that had opened at the end of the tunnel has disappeared....Definitely disappointing since the person I spoke to was a manager himself!!! :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
 
I still believe Apple will ship the 5870 when 10.6.5 is released.

I see no reason for Apple not to ship them. My order is still in the system a temp charge has been applied to my credit card. Really everything seems normal to me.
