As usual, 5G on Verizon continues to be significantly slower than LTE. Unless you are in an area of 5G UW, 5G on verizon is just a gimmick, and you are better off forcing the phone to use LTE only.View attachment 984835
that's a bummer. hopefully it gets better as time progresses. we're technically early adopters of the "nationwide 5g" considering they announced it less than a month ago...

Found some UWB. Super limited but very fast when available.
*Verizon ... Which the UWB probably gave away.

These were done back to back in the same spot on my 12 Pro. It seems like 5G is consistently slower for me when I toggle it between tests. At&t

For those of you who are experiencing 5G speeds that are slower than LTE, are you using the data saving mode setting? Could that be slowing it down? I don't even think we have 5G where I live, but will be playing around with it once I can get the new iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Says 5G but I don’t think it is

I think of measuring speeds, the question is do you notice any difference in real world usage? What about carrier cap limits?

I have both 5g UWB and 5g nationwide on Verizon. Granted its on my fold 2. I'll be testing 5g on my iphone mini soon.

No 5G in my area, ain’t paying my telco a extra $10 a month to use a service that isn’t available everywhere at the moment, switched off 5G, using 4G, the speeds are more than good enough.

I posted this in another thread but I see a significant speed difference in my 12 Pro Max and 12 Mini. The 12 Mini blows the 5G speed of the 12 Pro Max out of the water. The 12 mini came with a new sim, so I put it in my 12 Pro Max and it immediately started seeing the speed that the 12 mini was getting.

So I am going to an AT&T store today and getting a new sim as it does in fact matter it would seem.
