I tested with the Dell U3224kba and assumed that it also applied to the Kuycon G32P because they use the same panel but unfortunately that doesn't seem the case :(. It seems that Apple has whitelisted the Dell only.
Do you have both monitors connected? Does anything change if you remove the Dell?

I'm also curious if you could do an EDID override to make MacOS think the Kyucon is a Dell...just to see if Apple indeed applies monitor model specific fixes.

It's a shame this grade A ******** continues with Tahoe.

Two different locations so I'm not able to connect both of them at the same time. I've just exported the EDID using BetterDisplay and will try to import it on the Kuycon tonight.

The problem also still persists for me with Tahoe and my LG 40WP95CP-W.

Until now, I solve it using a virtual screen with Betterdisplay to get the ideal 3840x1620 resolution.

If that works, maybe it could also work if I do an EDID override to make macOS think that my LG is a Dell U4025QW?

It works! So this confirms that Apple puts limits based on the display identifier. Thanks so much for the suggestion!

I'm no expert but the U4025QW does have a different refresh rate (120hz vs 72hz). But maybe you can lower the refresh rate?
The Kuycon and the Dell use the exact same panel with the same resolution and refresh rate (6144x3456@60hz).

I don't know how to do it, but I would like to try it, because I've read here that the Dell U4025QW has not the problem and although the refresh rate is different, the screen size is the same.

I have never used this tool, but I understand that with Betterdisplay the original EDID of my LG could be restored if something does not work, right?

In any case, I can do the test with a clean installation of the system that I have on another hard drive, not on the main start disk.

Anyone knows how we can get the EDID of the Dell U4025QW to try to ovewith our LG? Maybe someone could export it with Betterdisplay and share it with others to see if it works?

It doesn't actually overwrite your existing EDID in your screen but rather 'fool' MacOS with a different EDID. After disconnecting and connecting it actually reverts back to the original EDID. There's an option to automatically apply the new EDID with each time you connect the screen.

The first step is to get someone with an U4025QW to export their EDID. You could even adjust it to lower the refreshrate but I have no experience with it.

Thank you!

I have been doing some tests, I got the EDID of Dell in that thread and when importing it in Betterdisplay, macOS effectively recognizes it as another monitor and shows the desired resolution. But half of the screen looks bad, with some glitches. Interestingly, it seems that the other half reproduces the image without problems.

I am doing some tests, modifying the Dell EDID values with AW EDID Editor for Mac, trying to stabilize the image on the screen, but it seems that for now I do not find the right option.

I do not know if another possibility could be to edit the original EDID of the LG to let macOS to show the ideal resolution of 3840 x 1620 that by default does not show in computers with M4 processors.

If someone with more knowledge and a monitor like the LG Ultrawide 40WP95CP-W want to try... it would be of great help.

I am still amazed that my old 2017 Intel iMac can provide this resolution and not the newest 2025 Mac Studio.

Can you export the EDID for your LG and copy most of it to the Dell EDID using AW EDID Editor?
Or edit your LG EDID and replace the Vendor and Product ID?
