6.0.1 - end of work day phone would be at ~80%
6.0.2 - end of work day phone is at ~45%.

Haven't done any scientific testing but that's a decent drop.

What you will probably need to do is make a full backup to iTunes or iCloud, restore from DFU (google it). This will put the proper full iOS on your phone and then restore from whatever you backed up to... After this, and only after this, you will be able to judge if 6.0.2 is the culprit;)

Mines the same since I got my i5. About 10 hours usage and over a day and a half of standby.

Same here Battery Drain here 6.0.1 lasted longer

I never update software right away. I let others be the guinea pig to see if there are any glitches.

As the Genius would say at an Apple Store, you may have to do a DFU restore and setup as a new phone. iOS install/update may have been corrupted and causing iOS crashes which drain battery.

My battery life is a little bit better. But, it didn't fix the WiFi issues for me.

so are pretty much all iPhone launches going to be plagued with bugs and then towards the release of the next one all these bugs will be ironed out then replaced with new ones for the next iOS?

IOS 6.0.2 is out. How is the best way to update? Should I just do it over the air through my iPhone or is it better to download it through itunes and let it reinstall ios from scratch?

The best thing is NOT TO UPDATE, with 6.0.2 the iPhone sees the wifi connection but is not using it at all, it stays on 3g or LTE. On top, if you leave the wi-fi on, the battery will be going down very fast (20 hours for mine). The phone was new, I applied the update on the 18h Dec. - walking out of the store, and still no news on how to fix things. re installing from scratch did not work.

Not true for many who are reporting it did in fact fix their wifi issues.

Have you reset your router and then reset the network connections, as some others have turned perceived disaster into success by doing so?

So if you read the posts above yours you will see there are no significant reports of battery problems.

I've noticed that too. It shows it is connected (i.e., icon appears for wifi) but in reality it is NOT connected. I tried "speed Test" app and it was searching for the "nearest server" for over a minute.

This only happens if the screen was "blank" or locked for an extended period of time. If it had been locked only a few minutes (e.g., 5-10), no problem. But as soon as it get over 1 h, the stupid thing shows wi-fi connection with no ACTUAL wi-fi at all!

Idiots at Apple have struck again!

Still the same crappy wifi connection. But now I get the bonus that it doesn't connect quickly after unlocking the screen, it takes up to a minute to reconnect. With 6.0.1 it would connect instantly after waking up the phone.

THANKS APPLE!!!!

DFU Restore to properly update and avoid worst battery life.

Not necessary, that's just placebo effect.

What is DFU restore and how is it done?

When you put the device in Device Firmware Upgrade mode. It's lets you interface the device with iTunes before the OS loads.

I never had an issue with battery life. I had the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 right when it came out. No problems at all. I'm a heavy user with 4 email accounts and all of which use push. I have lots of apps that utilize the device's hardware quite extensively. I have never had any battery life problems.

I do not know difference but i have poor battery level, I cannot end up the day online.

i am thinking of installing iOS 6.1 beta 4 but not really worth to use it while there are a few weeks upfront for final release.

I've had no battery problems at all. Updating to 6.0.1 made things even better. Updating to 6.0.2 has not noticeably changed anything - still happy with performance.

Is it a major problem, or even a problem at all?

I don't know what everybody else does but I plug my phone in for charging every night. I let it drain completely about once a fortnight and all seams fine with mine.
