thanks again. I'm downloading now.. 144/989mb.. Work computer.. dirt cheap and slow... Hopefully it downloads before 4pm...

Yep, if you're using a windows computer you need to hold down the shift button and click restore.
Option is for macs.

I thought on a Mac you could "right click" if not then HeyGreggie you need to hold the option key and click on restore

Judging by him saying its a Work computer.. dirt cheap and slow then its probably a windows machine.

lol well I'm downloading the ipsw via work internet/computer, then moving it to my macbook.

The wifi here is crap so i'm forced to use plan K... smh.

at least until I download it.. then back to the Macbook for this. Luckily I bring it daily

Damn it! I just planned on JB'ing my fiancees phone today.

I hope they are still signing it tonight.

(she's still on iOS 5.1.1 I believe).

Can someone tell me the improvements from 6.0 through 6.1.2?

My dad gets his i5 tomorrow and it might not be jailbreakable by then, so he might be stuck with what he has. I'd like to present the benefits of going to 6.1.3 vs. sticking with 6.0 or 6.1 and jailbreaking, depending on whatever is on his device when he gets it.

Damn 6.1.3 is out huh? Just as I started having issues with the Facebook app force closing and was contemplating restoring and rejailbreaking. I'm hoping my issues are just from the crap update that Facebook put out yesterday and not any actual jailbreak problems though. But last night and today it has force closed about ten times.

Back to being very careful with the things I download in Cydia! Luckily nothing really catches my attention these days lol I'll probably stick with the same 8 tweaks I've had since the evasi0n jailbreak came out.

At what point in a restore does Apple check the version? Is it safe to just try an old version? Or once it starts your committed because its already started on your phone?

I'd like to try 6.1.2 tonight when I get home, but I not want to take a chance of getting forced to upgrade.

I just got it working, apparently the sites kept giving me iPhone 5,1 instead of iPhone 5,2. But it checks immediately, then it asks if you want to restore to 6.1.2

I think right after its finish extracting the firmware, it'll check with the server before actually installing the selected firmware

i hooked up my ipad 3 cdma 32gb to my MBP and opend itunes, held down option and hit restore in itunes, selected the ipad3 6.1.2 cdma ipsw i dl'd from iclarified, ran it and it gave the "this device isnt eligible for the requested build" error.

also about an hour ago i was tryin to get the SHSHs thru tinyumbrella 6.12 and it said Apple is not singin anymore

did you do a restore? When I tried to upgrade I got an error so I had to restore.

even though you can save blobs, they have zero use now on A5 devices and above (A4 devices and below still can use blobs). make sure your hosts file is correct and that tinyumbrella is NOT running and then update manually via DFU restore in itunes.

I'll try when I get home, I'd like to restore my iPhone and upgrade my ipad. Hopefully I'll have time, but I've still got a couple hours to wait:(.

I have an iPod touch 5 and an iPhone 5 both on 6.1.2. Do the shsh blobs do anything. I saved them on tiny umbrella.
