iPad 6.1.2 signing

I just want to clarify this. If I'm jailbroken on iOS 6.1.2. Can I restore to the same firmware with my blobs saved?

If you're device has an A5 chip or above, (iptouch 5, iPhone 4S, iPad 2,3,4, iPhone 5) then no.

Yes. Use redsn0w, and stitch the ipsw. Read up on it but it is indeed possible since they found a re-restore exploit from iOS 5 to iOS 5 version. If you upgrade to iOS 6, you lose this benefit
 
Yeah as long as the blobs were saved when you grabbed them on a freshly restored device you can do an iOS 5 re-restore (already being on iOS 5) I should specify.

If you did an OTA update then grabbed the blobs, bets are off since the ramdisk is different.

I've never once done over the air updates on my devices :D

You should have upgraded to iOS 6 and jailbroke it when it came out. Its might be too late for any scenerios you want to try. It could have been this easy for you. Backup your iPad, Update to 6.1.2, jailbreak with Evasi0n and then restore with Backup.

The process relies on SHSH blobs being captured for both the 4.x and 5.x firmwares if you want to downgrade to 5.x from 6.0. If you want to rollback to an earlier version of 4.x or 5.x from 5.x, then only the 4.x SHSH blobs are needed."

it seems I should be able to restore to 5.1.1

But it also hints at being able to downgrade from 6 firmware. I know this won't allow me to update to 6.1.2 or even 6.0.1 - but it might allow some people on 6.0.1 and saved blobs to downgrade to 5.0.x

I think I will just stick to 5.1.1 and do a restore for now.

Clever, that 4.3.3 to 5.x thing! Makes sense (on a theoretical level)

Yeah iPhone 4 is an easy one provided you have blobs.
 
I just got my ipad in my hands and I can't jailbreak it. Just my luck. Oh well at least my phone is jailbroken.

Even when iOS 7 is released by Apple, its usually a few months afterwards before we see the hack dev teams find the exploits and have a working jailbreak that is released to the public. As a betting person, assume a year from now.
 
Quick question folks...

I saved all the files from my SMS/MMS (sms.db, etc)

and I placed it on my phone via SSH...

All of the texts show up, but is there a way to get the photos to show up? When I look for old pictures, it gets the ? mark...

You need to also put the "Attachments" folder back inside the SMS folder of else it'll show "?"
 
i have an ipad 2 wifi with 6.1.2 firmware can i still jailbreak it.. without restoring a new.. i have a lot of apps and games installed.. can i just use evasion and jailbreak it without restoring it..
