Nope, you'll be forced to upgrade.

I think he/she is asking when it pops up the error saying this device is not eligible for this firmware, has iTunes already started with the restoring process.

I think that you can just do a hard reboot and you'll be fine

Easy way to see if it still open is to try tiny umbrella and see of it'll pull the blobs.
I work second and the wife is never home to do her iPad when I am. Still at work:( hoping ill he good in another hour finger crossed for hers.

Is it still open??

Closed for me, but that is 6.1.2 on iPad mini. I'm currently on 6.0.2, and the restore process successfully unpacks the 6.1.2 firmware, but fails on the verification stage with Apple. So it doesn't even touch the iPad, leaving me back at 6.0.2.

I'm already jailbroken on my iPhone 4S, so I'm not worried about jailbreaking the mini. I just wanted to see if I could get to 6.1.2. I can't, but I'm okay with that.

Consider this verification that the signing window for 6.1.2 is now closed.

BL.

i'm so glad I got to it in time. My iPhone's keyboard started showing question marks and i had a lot of "other space" so I pretty much needed a restore.

Or you could just delete some tweaks and themes to get rid of the "other".

That's what I meant, but I decided not to worry about it since my issue was resolved somewhere between resetting network settings and backing up the phone to iTunes.

Now just waiting for iOS 7 :D

Well, unfortunately I'm stuck. It's my fault for waiting though. When do you think iOS 7 will be released?

Seriously, guys, it's a whole huge promotional event. Look it up on cultofmac, it's true.

9:19am on 9/19/ oh wait.

Really guys? Don't be goofing around keeping a dead thread alive and intentionally spreading misinformation. Some noob might actually read this and believe you guys. Everyone that pays attention knows 6.1.3 is the last version of iOS Apple will ever release.

I'm a little confused about the A5 and 'stutching' comments. I have an iPad 3 that needs to be restored. It was on 5.1.1 and I have the shshs saved. Can I use the 5.1.1 shshs to restore it to 6.1.2 and re-jailbreak?

Nope!

No.
Did you hear what you said?
Use the 5.1.1 shsh's to restore to 6.1.2?
Even if you had 6.1.2 you cant currently restore an ipad 3 to older firmware.

I have an ipad 2 wifi, i have all blobs saved up until 6.0.1

The ipad is currently on 5.1.1

Can I upgrade to 6.0.1, then use evasi0n to jailbreak?

Or can I upgrade to 6.1.2 somehow? I tried saving blobs using ishsh and it say 6.1.2 is no longer being signed.

For all intensive purposes and to avoid confusion,

Blobs with A5+ devices for getting to iOS 6 or re restoring on iOS 6 is useless.

Blobs are a "dev time capsule" we hope to be able to locate and open up one day but this requires more exploits not yet found.

If this changes, I'm sure it'll get posted a few times over.
