I let it drain yesterday, charged it back up last night, this is where I'm at now. I think ill be more than happy with this battery life :)

Wow looks amazing! Coming from a 4S which barely made it to 4 hours of usage, this is a big upgrade for me.

Yeah let it drain and charge it up.. be prepared it will take a long time to charge :/

My battery life is already better just after one cycle

Thanks i'll do just that! It recently died so i'm charging it up now, can i use the phone while it's charging?

Yeah i was using the phone while it was on the charger but i let it go to 100% before i took it off, good luck!

These reports of battery life will make the need for a Mophie unnecessary. You also have to add that would make the size of the phone super huge and heavy. They may just make it for the 6 instead

Trying to run my new iPhone 6 Plus battery down to 1% so I can charge it all the way up for the first time. 12 hours in under heavy use, and I'm still at 16%. That's impressive, especially given the gazillions of notifications I get.

New iPhones always have great battery life.

Give it a few months.

I can find you threads right in Macrumors from people last year saying the same thing about their 5s.

Just posted in another thread about battery life. Here it's again. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1411328747.303247.jpg

I have to chime in here too. Battery life on my 6+ is amazing. Simply best of any iPhones I've had. This is what I have at the end of the day. My 5S would long be dead by now.

IPhone 5s. Macrumors thread last year. Somehow new iPhones manage great battery life. Every year. Isn't that funny? Remember your battery is twice the size of this one,

So glad to hear this.

Battery life was one of my big reasons for the Plus. I've owned every generation of the iPhone and my biggest complaint was ALWAYS battery life.

:apple:

I agree I just put mine to charge when it got to 2%. But I had 14 hrs of usage time and a day and 3 hours of stand by time on a single charge. I was using it heavy too games, text, videos, music n so on.

I had a full charge on Friday, have not charged since and I am at 53%!!

this included the time I've spent playing around with it as well - amazing!

anyone have the 6? wondering how it compares!!

Just as others have said, the battery life on this beast is amazing. By far the best I've ever experienced on an iphone. I went out yesterday 100% at 11:30am came home 7pm and still had 80% left.

The only downside to this is that it takes forever to charge, but this was to be expected I guess.

I am on my third charge on an iPhone six and so far I've gotten a bit over 7 hrs usage from a full charge. I noticed that if I lower the brightness considerably the battery seems to go down slower. I am really considering returning it to get the plus instead. People seem to be getting twice the usage on the plus. And I can live with the BIG as long as it has good battery life!

Those with the 6+ do you:

1) Have Bluetooth on

2) Keep wifi on 24/7

3) Backlight percentage (Do you keep it on full, half, what)?

Does anyone else's have usage and standby time exactly the same? Battery seems great but not sure why standby time isn't registering.

I was at 38% last night when I went to charge it at 11:30 PM. I have the brightness on auto but other than that I have not done anything to "optimize" the usage of the battery. I'm really enjoying the excellent battery life on my iPhone 6 Plus!

my main reason for getting a 6 plus was battery life and it doesn't disappoint.

yesterday i got 23 hours standby and 11 hours useage.

so impressed

Yes to 1 and 2 because of handoff and continuity. I Keep mine on autobright. It's been 30 hours and 8 hours of screen on use and I'm at 25%.

Do any of you chaps use Whatsapp a lot? I'm on it non stop and worry that will kill the battery.

Mine is doing that too. Not sure why and the battery time doesn't seem that good, either. Read through flipboard and it goes down 10 percent.

I restarted the phone and now it's registering stby time.

Excellent so far. Just stuck it on the charger at 5% left.

I posted two screengrabs.

19%
Usage: 10hr 17min
Standby: 1 day, 16 Hours

5% Battery life
Usage: 12hr 24min
Standby: 1 day, 20 Hours

amazing battery life for sure. i only have charged my phone 2 times since Friday's pick up and absolutely do not regret this upgrade.

How you guys charging when it's low? Do you charge when it gets lower then 20%, 10%, or drain it completely? I usually charge my phone when it gets lower than 5% everyday and let it drain like once a month or so

On my first cycle i let it die and charged it all the way up. Im still on that charge. Some say draining helps, some say it doesn't. In 2 months will i be this keen on letting it drain? Absolutely not.
