When are the mods going to get a handle on these stupid bending threads. Move them all to one big mega thread and let the folks who care go crazy.

The phone is metal, metal bends and stays bent (shocking I know), however the claim that these are bending under casual everyday use is beyond ridiculous.

There is no bending issue with the iPhone 6 Plus.

I was extremely surprised to feel how durable this phone was when I finally got it after all that "bend-gate" nonsense. I honestly cannot see how this phone would bend with normal use unless you intentionally tried to forced it to bend with your hands (which is not normal use). It feels pretty darn rigid to me.

I have had it in my front-right pocket all day, crossing my legs and putting some pressure on it, and it is still completely straight. The only issue that the iPhone 6 Plus has is that it rocks back and forth with that protruding camera lens. That's it.

Even when user's on this very forum have said it bent in their pockets?

I know we all like Apple, but this has to give them a little kick up the back side.

The thing that worrys me is the number of bent iphones seems to be increasing. I made the thread to know if I am alone in thinking this or if others actually do agree with me.

Yes, even then. The phones do not "just" bend, there has to be sufficient force used to cause it to bend.

Before I got it I wasn't too worried because I carry phones in my purse but now that I've gotten it I just can't imagine it bending without significant force. I guess time will tell.

Honestly, I think the point is more about the number of threads. No matter where you come down on the "issue" I think it's safe to say that you want to know the facts. I know I do. So far today I've seen one additional example, but this one may have been a factory bent one.

Pretty much this. They don't seem to bend without significant user input.

I've been running, biking, throwing this thing around since I've had it (in a case of course) and I'm not worried about it. It's still pretty much a beast.

Considering nearly, if not all, of these bend videos show people intentionally trying to bend their devices — I am not at all concerned. I have no plans to intentionally ruin my phone for the sake of attention and provoke some sort of vendetta against Apple not being able to make physics work differently on their products.

If not intentionally bending, then it is people who are sitting on their phones in their back pockets. I am definitely at a loss of words to describe how people sit down with hundreds of pounds of pressure on their tech device being flattened against it. It's certainly not behavior that should be condoned for a tech device of this caliber.

The people who take care of their device will not end up with a bent phone.

No sure I understand what you are saying, I look after all my iphones, even still have my iphone 4 somewhere in the house in almost perfect condition, no scratches.

Im not concerned with the people who have had their iphones bent by a lot of force, because even while galaxy notes will not bend with similar force, something in their internals will still go wrong if you do that.

However, I am concerned about the situations, even users on this forum, who have noted the phone to bend with REGULAR usage. This is the only thing worrying me because I have my phone in my pockets all day. I dont wear skinny jeans but I wear fitted, which is one level below skinny, not as extreme but still quite tight.

If people's phones are being bent in pockets, its something to worry about. But holding the iphone 6 plus, it feels solid, of course Im not gonna try to bend my own one, im not that wealthy.

Its the thing where it plays with your mind, I keep checking everyone's iphone 6 for any bending.

I'm more worried about my phone dropping out of my pocket while running than this. I haven't had it fall out yet... it just feels bulkier in my pocket than with the 4 I had before. :D

Unbothered by the gullible others who were duped into returning their perfectly good phones or cancelling their orders. I buy insurance.

I am exactly as worried about this now as I ever was. I lay awake at night. For completely different reasons but I do lay awake at night on occasion nonetheless.

I'm worried about climate change and world politics.

An iPhone bending is not worth worrying about.

Oh, I'm also worried about monsters under the bed.
And singularity.
And giant vampire spiders that can fly.

What is more funny is that all the Apple fanboys denying that the phone bends. That and now they're beloved Apple name is isn't golden anymore. I'm having such a good laugh.

I haven't been following the issue closely but, from what I've heard/read, there are two things going on:
  1. People who stress-test it by literally trying to bend it.
  2. People who genuinely have their 6(+) bent in their front pocket. (unacceptable)

The thing is, most reports have focused on the former: "YouTuber trying to bend the new iPhone bends it!!! #bendgate". I've only ever heard a few reports of a device actually bending in a pocket. Apple doesn't seem to consider that normal behavior and is willing to replace what they consider a defective device.

Conclusion: Bendgate gives haters amo for months to come, lovers defend blindly, readers don't look past initial reports, and the facts give Waldo a run for his money.

Problem is? Real world examples of case #2 are practically as rare as the Loch Ness Monster.

It doesn't bend under normal use. ANY phone will bend if you use enough force, even your beloved Samsung pieces of junk with crappy TouchWiz interfaces.

After seeing all the videos I cancelled my order for the 6+ due to no longer having confidence in the quality of the product.

You do that - just means more 6+ handsets available for people who know how to treat their electronics.

How do you explain this? Someone goes into an apple store and easily bends a phone.

How do you explain this? Regular guy puts his phone in different pockets sits down stands up, sits down stands up in different types of chairs.

Phone is fine.....

How about that!
