Well I saw someone locally trying to post their "24" iMac G4". After talking to him, I offered $150(which I thought was more than fair) but said he'll sell for $580... Mentioned he would just sell the mouse and clear speakers for $150.

There's my comical post for the day.

Wow, even $150 is a bit much for one of those unless its in extremely mint condition with a box and fully maxed out.

People are nuts! They think just because it has an Apple logo on it it's worth hundreds. Most of them don't even realize the difference between PowerPC and Intel and just assume it's capable of running the latest. Then they get pissed when it's pointed out to them what they have or don't have because it doesn't fit with the dancing $$$$ signs they have in their head!

You could get a nice 20" on eBay for about $75-$100. Shipping would be a bit much, but still loads upon loads better than that listing. Even a nice quad wouldn't fetch that much.

Great! Seller can't spell and apparently this is some magical Mac that works without a keyboard. At least there are no pics of one, although he made sure to get the mouse in there.

Seller is delusional about the value.

People in my local craigslist are crazy too. There is an ad for an Aluminum PowerBook G4 and she wanted $300!!! Another person is trying to sell an iMac G3 for $250!!! Seriously check out the Milwaukee craigslist page, you will be amused!

Unless it's coming with Office, Photoshop, and several other high-end goodies then it's a horrible price for an iMac G4.

Most of these people on craigslist go to everymac.com, find the computer they are selling, and see the "current value". They need to realize that these machines are 10+ years old, and apple stopped supporting them long ago. You can do more with a HT Pentium 4 than you can with most G4's today.

Just the other day on my local CL a guy was selling an eMac G3 for $250 and another person listed their same model for $50 - wonder which one had the best chance of selling?

who knows? he may get $600 for it. he lost me on the text only part of it though. not everyone has a cell phone.

reading this made my day. I always wanted an imac g4 ever since i saw my grade school teacher. he had a 1ghz 17" model. But $600? HA! funny thing is, he got his model in 2008 (my last year in grade school) FOR FREE! I recently picked up an Emac 1.42 ghz. Guy wanted $100, got him down to $40 and still think i over paid a bit. What do you think?
