$600 for 20" iMac G4 LOL

Are you near Wilmington? Perhaps you could offer to buy it for $50 after appraisal!

I am on the other side of the United States, in fact. xD I have noticed that the price for one of these has gone down on eBay recently. Sure, there is still a demand for them, but they are sadly REALLY showing their age by now. Granted, I still enjoy using one. Two years ago, you could be lucky to get one for under the average $100 price tag. Now I see them going for an average of $50. I actually bought one in 2012 but was not pleased with the condition after what I had paid. I ended up returning it, but I later got two from a person for free. (both 12-inch, 800MHz and 1.07GHz).

Reminds me of the guy in the MR marketplace a while back who was under the impression that his 2.7GHz G5 with 4GB RAM was worth... $1000. He also had a 30" ACD listed for $1500. When I told him he was overvaluing by about 60% his response was "prices are different in the UK". Some people really do have no clue...

Where there is an apple logo, there is a group of sellers who believe that it is worth big money, even though it may not be.

People in my local craigslist are crazy too. There is an ad for an Aluminum PowerBook G4 and she wanted $300!!! Another person is trying to sell an iMac G3 for $250!!! Seriously check out the Milwaukee craigslist page, you will be amused!

I live in Milwaukee, and I can back this person up. The craigslist for our area is generally terrible, with only a good find every couple of months or so. *sigh* If only more people wanted to get rid of PPC macs...

Look at this, these, just one hell of a deal!!!

My favourite bit is the $60 shipping charge to the UK for that little package. Bargain.

I envy all of you. I've been wanting an iMac G4 for YEARS, but it's impossible to get one for less than ~250$ (15" model, without box or accessories), or 300$ for a 17" panoramic model. The 20" model is about 350-400$ easily without box, so the prices you call 'ridiculous' are only slightly above average here.

Obviously, I don't live in the US. If someone knows where to buy PowerPC macs at US prices outside the US, please contact me :roll eyes:

PS: 25$ for a working TiBook in its box. I'm one of those who would kill for it.

At the opposite end of the spectrum, my finger hovered over the bid button on this stonking bargain but I really did not have the houseroom for all this metal

to be honest, I would have been most interested in the PM G4 and stripping the G5s for HDs, mounts, Graphics Cards and ODDs. I already have enough Cinema Displays.

If anyone is interested in a boxed TiBook, I have a feeling this one is going to go cheap.

Oh wow, kinda mad I missed that lot of PowerPCs.... What a buy...

Local pawn shop place (Cash Converters) had a G5 Powermac. Because it looks just like the recently outgoing Mac Pros, they wanted £500...

That was six months ago. I presume they had given the guy who sold it to them a pretty penny, as it's only just gone down to £250, and they won't take any offers.
