Not only that but I'm guessing the 64GB will hold its resale value much better than the smaller phones.

It generally evens out; a quick look at Ebay confirms this. They go, generally, for a hundred or so over the previous, which is the cost of going up with upgrading.

There are other factors that play into it as well, but you generally come out even. Plus, I would gauge that people would be less likely to spend more on a year old phone when the difference is 16 gbs.

Been waiting for the 64GB since 2008 RUMORS started! Glad I went with the 64GB b/c I just downloaded ALL my photos and videos to my MBP 640GB HD to make room on my iPhone 4 32GB b/c I kept getting "cannot download app update b/c memory is full" on a regular basis...:eek:

I went with 64GB because of the 8mp camera and HD video as well as the Cloud. services.

.

If you got the money the 64gb is the way to go, no regrets here. Like other said there is a lot you can do with the extra 32gb.

64gb will come in handy!

I've been using my 32GB 3GS since launch day -- I've never gotten even close to full on it.

I still have well over 4,000 songs and pages and pages of apps on my phone, but I'm over 8GB of free space as well.

Couldn't justify the added $100 for the 64 GB phone. I just don't see me needing that much extra space.

Economies of scale:

16GB->32GB = $100 cost for 16GB
32GB->64GB = $100 cost for 32GB (2x the value)

Don't forget about resale value.

The way I see it is to get the 16 or 64. It really depends on how you'll use the phone.

1080P recording with 8mp pictures is my main concern, seconded by apps. tom tom app is 1.4gb.

my iOS device purchase policy: Always buy the highest capacity model.

Whenever I get around to upgrading to 4S, I'll follow my rule and pick up a 64GB 4S. Won't do it right now though as this year, I decided to splurge on a 17" MBP and an ATD and now I hardly use my iPhone...

I went with the 64GB option. Why the hell not? I'd rather have an abundance of space rather than constantly culling my music, videos, and apps.

Not only that but I'm guessing the 64GB will hold its resale value much better than the smaller phones.

if i had to guess, i'd say flash prices will really drop since the new factories are no coming online and 64GB won't hold as much value.

i've also read that with mac's the cheaper ones have a higher percentage resale value than the more expensive models

Lets not get carried away here; just back the thing up at night and don't leave things on there "just because" and you'll be fine. The battery will die before you use half of the information on the device.

Of course, the uses will vary between people, but 64 is a very large number in a phone.

:D Perhaps. 64GB is quite significant so, realistically, I doubt I'll get around there with all my goodies on there. Still, I just prefer having the larger capacity even if I don't use all of it. It's nice to know it's there. Plus the resale value will be much better.

I used to have an 8gb iPhone 3g, I thought that was way too small and was thrilled when I moved to a 16gb iPhone 4. Now I think 16gb is way too small, so I preordered a 32gb 4S. Now I'm scared that 32gb won't be enough.

I've been looking to get the 64g for a while. Even though I was disappointed with the release of the 4S I need the 64g so I preordered it anyways.

My Account

Mine did not appreciate it either lol
I also went from 16GB to 32GB.

Is looking pretty sick too, since I just ordered an MBP too, but might as well make this my last purchase for a while. Waiting for decent SSD for my MBA, but my Apple friend say's wait a while.

I'll have to....It's been an expensive couple of months:)

Well, I pre-ordered a 64. I had always hoped that they would come out with a 64 gig version, but I was hoping that they'd sell it at 299 and lower the prices of the others. Fat chance, I know, but still. As it is, I have a 32g 3gs and only a gig or so of free space, kept there purposely to have room for new apps or songs I might d/l. Besides, with the new applecare+ that I was planning on getting anyway, I can sell my 3gs rather than keeping it as a backup. That will make up for part of the difference in cost. Oh, the rationalizing-- it's going full steam, isn't it? LOL

Chose the 64GB route at the last second. Figured it's only a $100 extra for 32 more gigs. Also, I hope to sell it next year so I'm hoping it'll be a wash.
