So, I have no idea what any of these numbers mean, however, I am hoping to get the 21" iMac and I was wondering if this would work the same? They both have the same GPU's, so I don't think there will be any problems. Funds can't get me the 27" and I only want to play The Old Republic maxed out when it comes out.

just wanted to chip in and say that i got my 6750m running happily at 750/950 0.95v with the catalyst 11.8 drivers

@ stock GPU temps hit 90 before the fan kicks in and with this undervolt looking more like 84 degrees max

good performance boost :) very pleased

which catalyst 11.8 drivers did you use? I have a 11.6 preview as it installed without mucking around with it, but would love to update if I can now use official 11.8

I used the 11.8 preview drivers downloaded from the AMD site, worked first time and no problems in games that I've found.

For some reason I can't go about 750/950 without having trouble in games. Usually the game will play fine for a couple minutes and then the screen will go black as though the display driver crashed. For example, I tried the optimum settings from the first post (800/900) and had this problem. I'm on the 11.8 drivers.

750/950 is a relatively safe clock for .955, 800/900 is pushing it a little but most 6750ms should be able to handle it. If you're getting display driver crashed, lower the clocks or up the voltage slightly.

@kasbah, nice to hear its working well for you :)

Anyone using the automatic overclocking feature?
I'm having a problem with it. It doesn't seem to set the clocks back to default after i exit a game. I have the option to go back to default BIOS clock, but it's not working. Note that it overclock fine when i run a game, but it does not revert back to stock clocks when i exit.

Anyone having this issue?

Would this process be the same for the iMac? I have the 21.5" from this year with the 6750M and everytime I try to download and install the ATI drivers I get this error:

"Your Computer does not contain a proper graphics adapter."

I have used Driver sweeper to make sure everything is gone.

I had this same issue when I tried updating yesterday, I since reinstalled for an unrelated issue and haven't tried since. Is it really worth it? My throttlestop + 800/950@.95 is running great! I had overlooked it to 875/950@1.05 but when throttlestop was enabled it would randomly crash, I think it was drawing too much power.

Guys anyone using the automatic overclocking option? Can you comment on what i said above :(

Reverting back to stock automatically is broken with ATT atm, just use a hotkey.

Does it matter to go back to normal? If you undervolt it won't overheat, so can't you just keep the higher speeds?

BTW, what program do you use for GPU temperature monitoring?

I think it does matter, as the temperature of your overclocked (yet undervolted) settings will be higher than that when you only use 100/150mhz.
Thats why the automatic overclocking is quite useful.

I personally just wish there was finally a way to change the voltage with MSI Afterburner...that one at least doesnt kill off the automatic switching ;)
Anyone knows if there ever will be an update for this ?

But the new temps shown in the graph are lower than temps on factory settings. So why not leave it at that?

Even if idle temps are higher, as long as the max temp is lower or the same you shouldn't worry.

The factory settings you are referring to are 600/793mhz and those too run much hotter than 150/100. Automatic overclocking is disabled when you use ATT, so unless you are using hotkeys to be able to switch to lower clocks, you will be stuck with warmer temps. Slightly colder than factory settings, yet warmer than the "underclocked factory settings" ;)

I've tried the 790/1000 under .955 looping 3dmark 06 overnight and everything was fine. Thanks for this guide! I had to disabe UAC for ati tray tools to work. Anyone found a work around for this?

As long as it doesn't burn my house down when I leave it running to download a game on Steam or something, I shouldn't care ;-) I switch to Windows only for gaming anyway.

Does anybody have any before/after benchmarks? I'm just curious cos I can't run 3dmark at default res.

Furmark works fine on 800/850 on 0.92 but when i tried to bench Crysis 64bit it crashes here and there, I have to lower the settings to 725/800 for it to work without crashes.

GTA4 works fine also on 800/850 have yet to buy Crysis 2. Using ATT but it gives me a lot of BSOD's and Trixx does not let me undervolt :(

Can i flash the 6750m with a 6770m bios?

EDIT: Is there any alternative to ATT that allows voltage underclock?

Is great to see so many having success. However, it looks like ATI Tool Trays no longer functions. Have tried downloading multiple versions and none will load on my windows 7 ultimate 64-bit. Even with digital UAC disabled. What a shame.

Not sure whether or not this has already been posted but is it also possible to OC the iMac 2011 6750m also, has anyone tried it? Can you achieve a better OC?

I have attempted to download the latest drivers to no avail, being told i dont have the supported hardware installed

I have also attempted to use tray tools to no avail, it simply will not allow me to OC, why is this?

I am only just achieving frame rates in GTA IV at 29fps surely this can do better?

I'm running 11.8 on my 2011 MBP. Having the GPU sit at 100/150 and ramp up and back down as needed as made a big difference temperature wise.

How did you get 11.8 to install on your MPB? I have the 2011 AMD 6750m macbook pro with windows 7 64 bit, and no matter what I do, I can't get the 11.8 drivers to install (stuck on the stock bootcamp drivers). I've looked at many different threads and tried a bunch of stuff but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I was having similar problems until I went to this link in post#22: http://forum.notebookreview.com/gam...4404-amd-ati-mobility-11-8-driver-whql-3.html

Good luck!
