6770m

Found this on TechPowerUP, can't get it to flash my BIOS though, maybe someone else can. Its only 512mb vram so idk if you can edit that either.

Would this 800/900 'optimal' setting also be the case for the 6770m in the late 2011 MBPs?
Or can I push it even higher seeing as its stock clock is higher than the 6750m?

Can you give the link to the exact place where you found it ? I am amazed that someone even managed to extract the bios from the gpu. If that´s somehow possible, so should be flashing the chip with a new bios.

pretty sure this is where he got it from:
http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/...anufacturer=Apple&model=&interface=&memSize=0

Also I believe it is the imac ROM.

If GPU-Z doesnt work it might be possible to extract using RBE

edit: or possibly winflash? http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/1967/ATI Winflash 2.0.1.14.html

Maybe one of the guys with a 6770m could try it? Skyrim is out in 2 days Im running out of time here :D

Also to the people asking about overclocking 6770; as others have stated, no it is not likely that you will be able to overclock your cards to even higher speeds than 6750 overclocks as they are the same hardware.

Sadly I am having the same issue. Tried using the base Apple drivers, 11.6, 11.8 and 11.9...with and without CCC. I seem to have the newest version of ATI Tray Tools from here http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=733

How did you install these drivers? I also want to update the drivers and play some games! I have the official 11.1 that come with Bootcamp v4

I tried installing 11.10/11.9 but that updates the SDK, CCC etc but not the drivers!

please help

I have a standard Macbook Pro 17" 2011

Will the bios posted for the 6770 512mb work with late 2011 15" with a 6750 512mb?

That would be an awsome overclock for OSX.

^This. Couldn´t have said it better ;) Skyrim is the one reason why i am even going through things like ram upgrades, thermal compound re-pasting and massive overclocking ;)

Well, i got mine stable at 800/950 - 1.0000 V , still room for improvement ;)

By the way, which tool is more accurate for temps ? Hardware Monitor Pro or Gpu Z ? Yesterday, when i ran FurMark, i got a 107°C in Hardware Monitor Pro for the gpu, while gpu z at the same time showed me a max of 85°C (only for a short time though, dropped to 79°C)

Mine is not even stable at 800/900 - .955V! It freezes after about 15 seconds then starts up for 2 sec, then freezes again. When I back it down to 775/900 - .955V everything is good. I may have to add thermal compound to mine as well.

I'd say stick with the common temp app that people use. That way you have a common reference point to work with. Maybe its not the most accurate but you can get an idea of your temps vs. somebody elses

Question just is, which tool is more common ;) I tend to rely more upon gpu z, as this is also the basis for FurMark´s temperature measuring tool.
The values i got with Hardware Monitor Pro are rather disturbing on the other hand. If that tool was right, my thermal repasting experiment would have gone awfully wrong --- which i dont believe, as i just had a pretty hot summer with Crysis 2 running almost maxed out ... and flawless ;)

Download the latest package from guru3d.com and driver will install.

Anyone know why everytime I try to play a game it plays for a good 5 minutes and then my whole screen goes black and i have to reboot my Mac? Because this everytime i overclock the GPU and play a game it does this.

Please help.

Don't worry about HWmonitor. I had it telling me GPU temps were at like 9827368c when I used to use it.

And I know MacBooks get hot but come on.

Do you have any idea why can run a game then my screen goes black then i have to reset my computer?

Well, i will just rely on gpu z ;) Just played some more Crysis 2 yesterday evening and besides the fact that i can play pretty fluid on half ultra/half extreme, the gpu barely gets above 76°C ;)

I guess Skyrim should be just as demanding or even better :D

Did you undervolt ? If you did, raise the voltage again. What clocks did you set ? Try lowering them if raising the voltage didnt work.

I set the voltage to all of the basic settings on the first page of this thread.

0.955 volt 800 900 mem and speed

So I have my MBP running stable at 775/900 @ 0.955V. My temps reach a max of 90C running crysis for 30min straight. Is that ok? I have a speck shell on the MBP as well. Stock thermal paste

750/950 is a relatively safe clock for .955, 800/900 is pushing it a little but most 6750ms should be able to handle it. If you're getting display driver crashed, lower the clocks or up the voltage slightly.

@kasbah, nice to hear its working well for you :)

Lower the clocks down to what exactly?

We need some Skyrim benchies! Although considering how she handles BF3 pretty excellently, Skyrim should be a bit easier to run
