With the iPod sales slowly dropping they are going to need to pull something out of there pockets soon. I KNOW steve sees these dropping iPod sales and is wanting to pull the new iPod out of his pockets sooner rather than later. I say september is the earliest time we might see and latest january.
EDIT: also I say the next iPod will not have multi touch
EDIT: also I say the next iPod will not have multi touch
A multitouch ipod would sell faster than freakin fried chicken.
as for the multi-touch I can see that on the normal iPods but what changes does anyone see for the nano? just larger?
yea i say dec.
Apple couldn't sell new iPods after the debut of the iPhone with less than equivalent technology.
Depends on where you live... Where I live, fried chicken doesn't sell very fast. (Although, from your 'location' tag, you might very well live in Portland, Oregon, too.)
And, am I the only one that sees a little bit of racial profiling in the fact that the only two Popeye's Chicken locations in Portland are both on Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard, in the most 'historically black' part of town? KFCs are spread all over, what is it with Popeye's? (There are a couple in the suburbs, though...)
Didn't Steve say something about 5 New iPods this year at last years <name> event in September/October - don't quote me on this I may have pulled it out of thin air, but I thought I remember him saying something along those lines.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
HAHA! Bingo. Do live in Portland, Oregon.
Other than a touch-screen, what are some updates that Apple can do with the iPod? Bigger screen maybe? Flash-based hard drive?
My fiance and I decided to wait until around October to get into the iPhone but if Apple releases an iPod with a bigger screen and such, I might be tempted to stick through with my Treo and get the iPod.
hahaha... time for some unabashed speculation. So flash-based drives and a bigger, touch-screen a-la iPhone are certainly wanted features (although their economical practicality is somewhat questionable for $250-350)
also add to the possibility pile the FM tuner that every electronics mag seems to denounce the iPod for not having. In the same ilk is an FM transmitter (iTrip, built in) for wire-free connectivity to car stereos. Bluetooth and/or wifi have been thrown around as well.
and while apple has more-or-less kept the ipod a portable music/video player, there are the other gadgetry they could stuff into its casing... a built in camera, more gaming capabilities, etc.
and to throw in my two cents... to distinguish itself from the iPhone apple should keep the iPod as a better music/video player (and by better i mean smaller, cheaper, better battery life and higher capacity). Its technologically easy to do at least two of those... building an iPod that satisfies all four (smaller, cheaper, better battery life and higher capacity) will be the real trick.
Should I sell my 2nd Gen Nano already? ^^

I hope when the G6 comes out it will have like an internet like the iPhone but with just iTunes so you can buy songs right on ur iPod

Here in the UK, there are a lot more 3G networks, hopefully it will have 3G by the time it gets here. With that update, they may as well increase the storage and/or decrease prices.Do you think there will be a price/storage update anytime soon? Christmas season is a long ways away
Wouldn't that be something? I'd love to be able to browse the iTunes Store on my iPod via WiFi.. and its entirely feasible. That would be revolutionary, I think. You could download songs and h.264-quality movies with it.
I hope they differentiate the design of the 6G from the iPhone, but make it sort of similar, just so you can tell the difference between the two.
