You might want to consider that Apple makes more money from the iPhone than the iPod.

Yes but Apple makes more money from iPods because more are sold. And iPod sales seem to create mac sales which have a bigger profit margin.

Any company knows: go for mass market over niche.

...

You will get your touch screen iPods in mid August. Apple had the video removed because it might have lowered sales by making people think the iPod would remain to have a click wheel. $399

I'm happy with my iPhone. :)

Don't you think that all of Apple's efforts to bring the price of its iPod to $249 will be negated if they create a new one starting at $399?

I think that would be "pulling a Sony PS3..."

Not if it's their high-end model. They did it with the iPod Photo.

how does that video prove that it's a touch screen? it just shows half a list, and the other half is animated according to the theme you chose. can someone give me a video that would lead you to believe that it's a touch screen?

I was the person who alerted YouTube that one of the interface videos was infringing on Apple's copyrights-and of course complied.
That was a pretty asinine thing to do, aafuss.

You've been a member here for over 5 years - surely, in all that time, you must have noticed the nature and purpose of this forum?

If corporate lawyers want to create the ridiculous illusion that they can hold back the tide once a piece of information has made it onto the Internet, fine, let them - they are, after all, getting paid $500 per hour.

But, c'mon, don't run around doing the same for free just because it makes you feel important, all you're doing is inconveniencing other members of this site and other Apple fans who are interested enough to watch Apple-related videos on YouTube and who, ultimately, will be the ones handing over their hard-earned cash for these new ipods and paying all those lawyers' wages.
